2 expansions and the wait is a little disappointing but i do think the transport and gozanti will be fun. I'm just not optimistic that we will see any other expansions in 2016. If that's the case then I will be disappointed.
Why wave 3 hate?
I think this is it for wave 3. I can't see why they would announce wave 3 and not include all of wave 3 in a wave 3 announcement.
I could see them doing it in parts if they wanted to focus on the game changing nature of these 2 ships, before announcing more standard releases.
Or if the other releases need to wait for some event to take place first.
Or if they wanted to spread out announcements between Cons.
Have they a history of doing this kind of thing with any of their games? Real question, not sarcasm.
With Armada, they've always announced the Waves in Parts...
First.
Then there was an overall "Wave" Announcement.
Like with Wave 2, there was separate announcements for all 5 bits and pieces, and then the Wave itself.
So this is already an exception - it went straight to the "Wave" Announcement.
And now we'll need the breakdown in paticular as we go along.

I'm pretty sure they announced wave 2 and then did all the separate parts.
Here they come came on april 2nd last year and then the individual break downs came after.
Same with the first wave, which came in on november 10, and then the individual break downs came after.
Seems like wave 3 is doing the same thing: wave announcement and then later individual break downs.
Unless I'm reading your post wrong in which case, apologies.
Its also entirely possible that I got my News Articles in the wrong order...
We knew what Wave 2 was, because it was shown in the Case - but we didn't get an "Hey, here's Wave 2" Article as such - we started getting the Individual bits - like the ISD etc, first...
And then there was the "Wave 2 has arrived"...
Its weird.
But its also entirely possible that I missed an article here or there, because going back in the list isn't exactly intuitive in its order...
I understand...
I think I was asking more along the lines of what FFG does with other products that release like this, be it xwing or descent or whatever.
I knew from recollection that all waves in armada have been officially announced with all parts in the wave announcement and then added more articles to detail the individual parts but I wasn't sure about other game systems and how it was done since I don't really pay attention to them.
For the flothaters out there-
Look on the bright side. At least you're not paying $150+ for soft cover books to maintain the mere legality of the miniatures you already own!

Imperial Assault seems to be much the same.
They announce the core expansion, and then details of bits and pieces that are expanded upon.

I'm hoping it's because the remaining Wave 3 ships are tied into the newest SW movie and, thus, they are contractually unable to show them or talk about them. Since the new movie is still 9 months away and they heard the cries of "why is there no Armada news!?!?", they decided to announce these two ships which are not under any restrictions.
