I LOVE the Original Triology!... But here are 10 things that`s wrong with it.

By RodianClone, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

At least according to this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNAPNN3cuHw

I know it isn`t new...

I absolutely agree with 10 and 9, the rest I don`t really care about, they all work in the story(to me and how I see stories). Or at least I enjoy the other faults.. from a certain point of view.

How about you?

I feel I have to say it again. I LOVE THESE MOVIES, but this review and the nitpicking is still very funny to me. Peace.
This guy clearly doesn`t know who Grand Moff Tarkin is or that not all troopers are clones for example. And I`m not sure if he doesn`t get the genre at times or if he is just being funny, maybe both.. Oh, well, still entertaining.

And remember, guys and gals, we can disagree, even think someone is wrong, without hating eachother!... Unless you are 6 of course, then you`ll get a pass.

I love the prequels

ONLY 10????????????????????????????????? *facepalm*

I found the prequels OK, but not as good as the OT. Just have to see where the sequel trilogy goes now... :)

Ranking:

EP IV

EP VI

EP V

EP VII & EP III (ever realized that Kylo and Ani have the very same temper when they don´t get what they want? Start looking angry, start crying and try to destroy something/someone nearby...)

TCW

EP II

...

...

...

EP I (Sorry for Qui-Gon and Darth Maul but Kid Ani blabbering about Angels, Jar-Jar and Midichlorians just killed this Movie... oh and of course the authentical burecratacaly dicoussion of the Import/Export toll for Neimodians... Best Phrase in Ep IV is (in the aftermath) "The Emperero just disbanded the senate!")

I'm having trouble believing you put episode 6 before episode 5.

5 takes all, every time!

5 takes all, every time!

Objectively, yes! Subjectively, that is different from person to person. I love a lot of movies that are not as good as other movies that objectively are much better movies, but I don`t like as much.

Personally I would also put 5 over 6, but I can understand Rodian: It's got the big space battle and one of the coolest cons in movie history!

And then:

My preference for the films...

Best to worst.

Ep VI

Ep IV

Ep VII

Ep V

Ep III

Ep II

Ep I

Things I think wrong with the OT?

  • It's a white man's galaxy. (The low ratio of visibly ethnic actors was a nod to the inspirational source but it's still an error, IMO. More females would have been nice, too.)
  • the revisions inthe 90's versions. (At least I have the older releases on Laserdisk)
  • deleting the Tatooine scenes with Luke & Biggs.
  • not showing anything flowing out of the exhaust port.
  • Chewie not getting a medal.

It wasn`t my list :P

SORRY, I can understand Jai!

I don't think anyone has ever said the OT were flawless movies (ok, somebody somewhere probably has, but I've never met/heard them). The important thing is "Is it a good movie with flaws"? or "A bad movie with good bits" ?

Personally, I say they are the former. But they have their issues sure. Doesn't detract from enjoying them.

Oh boy, here we go again...

i like the original trilogy flaws....oh boy does it has flaws..... and all. I agree with Nº5....though to me its more of a freature than a bug

And i have a love/hate relationship with EP2, i love its interesting characters and plots, the clones, Syfo Dyas, the idea of a war fought via proxies and Dooku, a Jedi master noble who left the order. Unfortunately they are also all the plots the movie decided not to focus on.

For someone who has such contempt for the EU Lucas sure made EP2 heavily dependant on the EU to get the full scope of the movie. Because when i got the full picture it actually its a pretty interesting thing.

Nice clip.

I have only seen the EWW ( everything wrong with ) an the HISHE ( How it should have ended ) do their runs at the movies.

As for rankings Empire hands down. An the only good thing about the prequels was Natalie, well Natalie and the concept artists, but I'll still put the prequels ahead of the clone wars animated. So disappointed how the slapstick Monty Python humor ran rampant in that.

The narrative architecture Lucas built in the prequels was great, it was the character development and main story line that turned out awful!

I find the prequels to be so full of "that could have been great if..." moments. Quite a bit of wasted potential, IMO.

Are you sure you're not confusing "The Clone Wars" with "Rebels?"

While "TCW" did include slapstick on occasion, it was almost always centered on Jar Jar and the few episodes in which he was featured. 'Slapstick' is really not a word I would use to describe "TCW."

Chopper, Ezra, and Zeb, on the other hand, are freaking 'slapstick machines.' Seriously, I don't think I've seen one episode of "Rebels" that did *not* feature some form of physical humor...

My ranking of the films:

1) Empire Strikes Back

2) Star Wars

3) Revenge of the Sith

4) Return of the Jedi

5) Attack of the Clones

6) Phantom Menace

I need to watch Force Awakens a few more times before I figure out where it fits... Right now, I might place it between RotS and RotJ (or after RotJ). But, again, I've only seen TFA once.
