Kind of sad how everyone hates the G1As generics. Haven't had any good ideas for the findsmen, yet, but 3 of the 23 point guys with Tacticians with TLTorkil Mux look pretty strong. Good health, neat stress stacking, Torkils ability.

A Findsman with Boba Fett, Mist Hunter, Tractor Beam and Calculation is 28 points. I honestly can't fathom how this is supposed to be bad.

Sure, it won't do THAT much against triple aces, but it can still contribute control. Any low agility small ship that gets in the way can be put on asteroids, and at PS5 it shoots before most other generics, as well as arc dodge them with barrel rolls. With Boba and Calculation it has a reasonably good chance of landing a crit on an unshielded low agility ship, removing its most annoying upgrade (which in this meta means Palpatine or a TLT), and on top of all this, it's an 8 hit point ship that has the evade action.

Honestly, by far the worst pilot in Wave 8 is Zeb. His ability is nigh on useless, he doesn't have an EPT, and he competes with Ezra and Sabine at only 2-3 points more. He'll never ever see play. Likewise I don't see the generic Ghost pilot ever seeing play as long as Chopper is an option.

Zeb is only 18 points, that is something.

Best Ship: Jumpmaster, lots of ways to use it as either an Ace or a filler with threatening power.


Worst Ship: I don't want to pronounce myself on that one.


Best Pilot: The Inquisitor, it will fill a nice anti-autothruster slot while still being a ship that cares about firing arcs. I suspect that we will see him often.


Worst Pilot: Kanan Jarrus. Diminishing a single ship's attack with a focus seems... lackluster when flying a ship with 0 agility. Maybe I'm missing out on some combos.


Best Upgrade Card (has to be a new one) : mindlink. The level of economy of action is unprecedented if you can mix it up with 3 or 4 ships. The challenge of using it right it enticing as well.


Worst Upgrade Card (has to be a new one) : electronic baffle? Can't seem to find a use for it (at least not yet).


Best Overall Expansion : Jumpmaster, many uses and many upgrades that can be used by other ships.


Worst Overall Expansion : VCX-100. The ship and playstyle might be fun, but the upgrades it brings on the battlefield are non-essential if you are a scum or Empire fan. It is one of the first ships that can be skipped without any ill feelings if you don't fly as a rebel pilot (or if you want to spare your wallet).

Best Ship > Jumpmaster

Worst Ship > Inquisitor

Best Pilot > Sabine "bb-8s mistress"

Worst Pilot > Zeb Derp

Best Upgrade Card > Predator DENGAR

Worst Upgrade Card > Reinforced Deflectors. useless even considering the "supposedly a ordnance filled meta" context

Best Overall Expansion > JM5k

Worst Overall Expansion > Ugly Ghost

His ability is actually stronger on a low (no) agility ship, since a dodgier one might cancel the die naturally. He's basically a weaker C-3PO.

I don't get how kanan is weak. His ability + r2 puts him on fat han levels of damage cancel. Recon enables multiple uses of for defense or saves a focus for offense. Stack an open system slot and presto

He is, however, the least interesting pilot in the world. With all the crazy **** the ghost does, why settle for a fat ship?

He's a BRO to biggs. actually becoming a fortress for the moustached tank-troll

  • Best Ship - Jumpmaster. Opens up so much for Scum.
  • Worst Ship - Maybe the TAP? I actually like all of them.
  • Best Pilot - Contract Scout seems like the clear winner. Can do so many things.
  • Worst Pilot - Zeb. Oh, good, my 2-hull ship can cancel crits before hits! That might trigger once.
  • Best Upgrade Card (has to be a new one) - Boba Fett. Because it's BOBA FETT.
  • Worst Upgrade Card (has to be a new one) - Reinforced Deflectors. A very expensive card for very limited utility in a game with so many 2-attack ships and razor-blade TLT shots.
  • Best Overall Expansion - Jumpmaster. Arguably the behind only Most Wanted as the best Scum expansion overall.
  • Worst Overall Expansion - TIE Advanced Prototype. Again, I like it, but it's a tough ship to really justify more than maybe two of.

I did not realize he worked when other ships were defending. Much better than I had originally thought.

FCS, Jans Ors and Recon Spec on him might be real to help all your bros tank. Kanan is a bro, I guess.

Taking 2 recon specialists and making a list of 3 aces all shoot 1 fewer attack dice is beyond gross. Nothing about it is once per round (just 1x per ship) or only while defending, it's just take 3 focus and make Vader shoot like a hwk or soontir shoot like a tie fighter or even worse, both.

For those saying Electronic Baffle is the worst upgrade, just know that on a Lambda, it's insane. Park it in the middle of the scrum, and pull a couple consecutive STOPS, and watch as whatever formation your opponent had crumbles instantly. Put on an Ion Projector or APL for good measure if you wish.

Yeah, that's definitely the issue, IMO. Since the TLT doesn't really work with the Phantom, the best turret option seems to be Chopper ramming things with the Autoblaster, which needs Zeb to really work.

The one part I hate about this post is that it makes me want to buy a fourth Lambda, when I had previously though that three was enough.

I've been thinking of what else to put on my 4 Great White Baffalo to make the list crazy maneuverable. Never did I think of having them merely never move ever again. Brilliant I say!

I was thinking, however, of 1 Anxiety Ridden Baffalo with Mara Jade as a blocker, 1 Suicidal Baffalo with Vader for damage output, and 2 Ion Baffalos with Ion Cannons to help give the Baffalos more time to maneuver.

Either way, it looks like I'm buying two Mist Hunters. :D

This thread is a giant circlejerk of hearsay.

There has been some immediate, "easy" success on the Jumpmaster, & a few popular podcasts have said the mist hunter is overpriced. I get that it is fun to discuss & prognosticate, but these superlative, declarative statements are silly.

That being said, Valen Rudor seems like he could be strong. Pair him with Omega Leader and you can give a list with a high cost ship a tough time. Heck, throw in a Vessery for synergy & you have a fun list.

Was totally going to say the same thing as you two. 4LOM and Zuckuss crew are just nasty, nasty good. Even if the Misthunter does turn out to be "dead on arrival" (I don't think it is btw), those 2 cards alone make it an amazing purchase.

Just a guess, but I think Scum is probably the least played faction . Hopefully with the awesome upgrades wave 8 Scum ships offers the faction, more people will see just how great S & V is. I would even say wave 8 puts them on par with both Rebels and Imperials.
