You had my respect, what with doing what you said you were doing...
But now all you've done is lied.
So by AdmiralNelson's reasoning... Wave three is announced (something that may have taken many months to develop and play test), we all take to the forums swearing, getting angry, threatening to quit the game whilst making unreasonable 'special snowflake' demands to FFG (I want, I deserve, I insist) and in response they rush through an ill thought out, un-play tested, possibly game breaking addition. Which people will all be moaning about in six months time as it's overpowered/under-powered/not the ship they felt they were entitled to... And the whole sorry mess starts over again.

I'm honestly trying to understand what the "huge transgression" is that FFG needs to make up for. What do you want the community to "put their foot down" against? A slow expansion release schedule?
Would we be in a terrible place if this Wave was just these two small expansions introducing a very interesting and seemingly complex support element? I'm just confused how this would be such a terrible thing. Disappointing? In one sense, perhaps. I agree, I'd love to see some more ships. The only reason I can imagine for pushing back content or releasing smaller waves would be the design and balancing of in-game elements. If we sacrifice an aggressive release schedule in exchange for a finely balanced game moving forward, I think we would all agree that is something we all prefer.
So far, the devs have done a great job of building the game, evolving it in larger, more complex ways. These new flotillas, while small, seem to bring a lot of new complexity to the table. I don't think this particular small release indicates any less commitment on FFG's part to developing a quality product moving forward.

I obviously missed the crapstorm here yesterday.
So let me boil it down. I was hoping that they would give us more for Wave 3, so it was a little bit sad to see just the two ships.
That being said, I'm more excited for new stuff (and this stuff seems pretty juicy, to be honest) than I am disappointed with the light Wave.
Plus, of course, this might well not be everything in the Wave. Either way, I'm happier than sad.
Finally, they wouldn't care of the entire forum was outraged. They would respond to sales pressure, but these forums don't comprise 100% of the player base, so they would still generate sales, probably enough to justify their "transgression".

Learn a better coping mechanism than dropping your bunnies and throwing your toys out, or I, once again, invite you to walk through the door and go chase windmills elsewhere.

I love the "you sheep don't realize that to prevent this from happening again we need to firebomb FFG" argument.
I've also never seen a good argument that involves any of the following:
- Calling people sheep or mindless followers
- Using the phrases "wake up" or "listen" as an encouragement to perform a certain action as though the listener is stupid and hasn't been convinced simply because they weren't paying attention
- Glorifying vulgarity or violence in all but the most dire circumstances
If you're trying to convince someone of your perspective, it helps to treat them as much like an equal as possible and appeal to their reason and self-interest. It's okay to be disappointed in things, but if you're trying to convince someone to feel the same way, a measured approach is your best bet. Having an emotional meltdown just makes your position look even worse because now it's associated with your behavior.
If you really want FFG to change their behavior, affect their bottom line. Don't buy their products. Be respectful about it but take effective action. They're a business, their job is to sell us plastic space ships at a profit. When that doesn't happen, they'll take notice. They're not going to take somebody's online meltdown seriously.
Of course, you'll be competing against those of us who will be happily throwing our money at FFG, but at this point we're voting with our wallets. There's nothing wrong with that.
