What will you be Playing After Wave 8?

By CaptainAl, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I wanted to start this topic, so everyone could post what they will be running when wave 8 comes out. This topic will help other players come up with ideas on how to use the new ships.

I will be running

Vader

VI

Proton Rockets

TIE/x1

ADV Targeting Computer

Engine Upgrade

Inquisitor

PTL

Proton Rockets

AT

TIE/v1

Omega Leader

juke

Comms relay

Great topic! Being as much a fan of Rebels as I am, one of the lists I want to build but will be going back-seat to my Imperials is a Ghost, Phantom, B-Wing list inspired by a certain episode of Rebels. It's more of a fluff list, but it looks pretty decent on paper too!

Kanan Jarrus – 38
Ghost – 0
Dorsal Turret – 2
Ezra Bridger – 3
Gunner – 5
– 48

“Zeb” Orrelios – 18
Phantom – 0
– 18

Ibtisam – 28
B-Wing/E2 – 1
Hera Syndulla – 1
“Mangler” Cannon – 4
– 34

Total: – 100

I love playing fluff lists. As soon as i get my Raider i will play a a imperial trench run list. I will use Vader, his wingmen and black squadron pilots

It's difficult getting an accurate representation of that B-Wing in Rebels, but we do what we can...

On the topic of the Raider, I'd love to run Juno Eclipse with a bunch of her Black Eight squaddies.

My casual games will still be:

Patrol Leader 40

-vader 3

-gunner 5

Obsidian squadron pilot 13 (x4)

My tournament squad will be (at least for a bit):

Inquisitor 25

-ptl 3

-title 1

-autothrusters 2

Omicron group pilot 21

-palpatine 8

-electronic baffle 1

-Ion Projector 2

Darth Vader 29

-veteran instincts 1

-title 0

-advanced targeting comp 1

-engine upgrade 4

(maybe 35 point fel instead)

I'm actually starting to like the look of a Dash-Ghost combination. Massive HP, massive firepower, interesting shenanigans... should be good fun.

Part of the fun is in experimenting with all the different combos that will be available. Just with Ghost and Phantom I can see at least 4 different configurations I want to try out.

For the Imps, the real excitement will come when Imperial Veterans hits the shelves. Come here my Juking X7 Glaives and double firing Cannon Defenders!

I'm going to try and get away from the ruthless efficiency of this list and have fun with all the new Scum crew in this one, the revised "Lowest of the Low":

Mandalorian Mercenary (39)

Boba Fett

Predator

Trandoshan Slaver (34)

Dengar

Zuckuss

4-LOM

Syndicate Thug (27)

TLT

R5-P8

My casual games will still be:

I like this list, but is it word running palpatine if boba Fett upgrade card is a thing?

I've been musing over buying a second Firespray and building them as Scum. How does this look?

Boba Fett – 39
“Mangler” Cannon – 4
Gunner – 5
Marksmanship – 3
Experimental Interface – 3
– 54

Mandalorian Mercenary – 35
“Mangler” Cannon – 4
Gunner – 5
Wingman – 2
– 46

Total: – 100

I'm not sure of the use of Gunner on Boba thanks to the Marksmanship/Wingman combination and it could probably be swapped out for something else. What I'm trying to get going for Boba is a Crit City build but I have a feeling my logic is incredibly flawed. Also very reliant on the Mercenary not kicking the bucket.

I just built this same list just before coming to check out the boards lol. Difference being I threw some prockets on Vader and just left OGP with Palp.

I doubt Boba is going to make that much difference to palp lists. Boba is very situational most of the time. Besides in order to get a crit barring homing missiles you have to get through the shields and a shuttle that's taking crits is usually not long for the world anyway.

The question is really how many times will you face Boba? I think Scum crew slots have a lot of competition. Dengar is so phenomenal it's hard to see taking anything else, so really we're just talking about YV-666s as the only Scum ship with multiple slots.

I added the baffle and Ion projector cause you can permanently block a problem ace. I know boba crew is a thing now but 5 shields still exist. Also if I lose palpatine to that card then at least I still have vaders ATC and the inquisitor's PTL.

May have to steal those changes. I knew from the start I wanted to make a list with Palp, Vader, and Inquisitor. Mainly because of the gimmick with it basically being the chain of command.

I think Boba Fett will be seen a lot at first, but I don't think it'll be as effective as people think.

I am truly excited now that I have the new scum ships.

Tel Trevura (30)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Dengar (3)
R5-P8 (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Hull Upgrade (3)
Punishing One (12)
Latts Razzi (33)
"Mangler" Cannon (4)
Boba Fett (1)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Weapons Engineer (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Total: 100
Seems like a fun list to fly if nothing else. Trevura will be hitting pretty hard, and will serve as an ace killer with Dengar and Latts' ability. I really enjoy bringing two iconic bounty hunter ships together.

I haven't fleshed it all out yet, but, with all the Wave 8 hype getting me giddy, I might try something along these lines:

I am thinking of Captain Jonas (Tie Bomber) with guidance chips, thread tracers, maybe proton rockets;

The Inquisitor with Autothrusters, PTL;

Gamma Sq pilot (Bomber) with suitable missles and/or connor net;

And maybe a second prototype Tie, or my favorite Interceptor.

Since I always want what I can't have... what I'm _really_ waiting for is Imperial Veterans release. ;)

Hera seems to be an incredibly useful crew for 1 point...

That's one of the reasons I chose Ibtisam for my B-Wing pilot for my fluff list. Being able to perform actions while stressed and getting rerolls while stressed is great fun. The Ghost set seems to be all about giving stress or benefiting from having stress, it's an interesting kit to say the least!
