I got my fingers crossed for smaller waves.

While some armada folk are upset at the two ships in wave three I personally really hope we get smaller more affordable less drastic waves in X-wing.

Having so many new options all at once is too much. I love the idea that the player base has less to digest between releases. I really hope this is the way they do Star Wars stuff in the future.

Go full attack wing and have waves of one ship.

A wave at this point feels like it should only be one ship per faction alternating between red label classic factions and blue labeled new factions and maybe a scum ship so they don't fall behind options wise. Everybody gets a thing each wave. Everybody does not need to get two things every wave.

Wow they went escort with those small ships. I wonder if there are plans for Supported Ship stats with such mechanics taken from Halo Firestorm Armada.

As for smaller ship waves yeah sure I'm content with 3-4 ship releases. Although I sense we will be seeing more Disney products in the future.

Smaller waves would likely mean faster development cycles meaning more frequent releases.

That being said, we might see 3-ship waves after wave 11 or 12 once scum catches up in numbers.

Also, Armada might be getting Rogue One stuff in Wave III, which FFG wouldn't be able to reveal*.

I just don't get it. If finances are an issue, then simply pick a faction and just get THAT faction's ship. then get the rest next month or something if you want.

One ship sound too small of a wave to me. I would definitely like a less expensive wave. Maby set a max MSRP of each wave as well as a number of ships.

I want each wave to have one new ship for each faction including Resistance and First Order as well as Rebellion & Empire and 2 Scum.

But it would probably be better for my wallet... with 3-4 ships max

TIE Avenger and Assault Gunboat still need to come out.

IMO the best solution if you feel this is to just play casually and not worry about keeping up with the nitty-gritty of new releases unless something looks cool.

I want to preface this opinion with the statement that we all have budgets, and have to live within them. I too would love to see the game be more user-wallet friendly.

That said; this is a miniatures combat game, and if you can't afford it, you probably shouldn't get into it. Was just in a shop today with someone asking about the game, and told them if you can't afford 250.00 to get started playing, don't bother. His jaw dropped, and then the clerk grudgingly agreed with what I'd said. He clarified that yes, you could get into it for much less than the quoted 250.00, but that to build a functional force and have the things you'd "need" in order to keep up with other players; yes, you were looking at around the price tag I'd stated.

I've seen several opinions that the price should be lowered. The waves should be spread out to ease the hit to the pocket book. Well, I'm sorry, but I feel the prices are fair, and if it's a large wave with months between, then just budget in the dry time to save up for it. Or just don't get everything the day it's released. :)

I do understand and respect your stances about cost per item and impact per wave. I just feel like grumbling over the cost of a hobby that's well known to be crazy expensive is a bit like being lactose intolerant, eating ice cream, and then complaining you don't feel well.

As to logistics affecting the size of release waves, those are solid points. You can argue X-Wing is running out of viable designs to continue with future waves. Similarly you can argue Armada has only so much need for various roles, and thus ships. So there are many reasons to make a wave smaller if you want to "stretch out" the life of the game.

I doubt we've seen the whole wave. I'd be disappointed if we have because really, it's not 2 ships they've released, it's one. If money actually is the issue, buy for your most played faction first. So you only got 1 ship. Hardly a bank breaker wave. Just some thoughts.

Well, we do have two SKU numbers unaccounted for, but it may also be nothing.

Yeah collecting a faction does not work for this game. I would be fine with the same overall release schedule I just want it in smaller focused chunks

I like the competition aspect of this game a lot, but I typically narrow my "high priority purchase" list to ships that seriously support a few key competitive squads. I've spent a good chunk of change over the almost two years I've been playing, but I've never been tied to mass purchases of a wave. Here's how I've kept up with purchases the last few waves:

FA stuff: Starter, 2 FO packs, 2 T70 packs (from tournament prizes)

Wave 7: 1 K-wing, 1 Punisher, 1 Khiraxz

Wave 6: 1 Most Wanted (tournament prize), 1 Aggressor (tournament prize), 1 Starviper

Wave 5: 1 of each big ship, waited until Miniature Market had that big sale where they sold both.

This is certainly not a trivial amount of money, and my lack of Epic Ship purchases limits me from running certain squads competitively, but it amounts to 2-3 packs a month, which is less than I spend on gas. Startup price is more, obviously, but it's going down as FFG makes more single pack combos like Omega Leader.

3 ship waves one for each faction would be best for me.

Yea I wouldn't mind a break. I haven't played much or at all with several ships yet. Not to mention all the ones I need to buy yet.

I expect one more 4 ship wave to bring scum up even with the other two (with the now standard caveat about the phantom in the ghost pack) and then the shift to 3 ship waves.

This wave was a special one. Disney asked (read that as required) FFG to create Episode 7 materials for Force Friday. I fully expect the waves to go back to 4 ships again.

Smaller waves would likely mean faster development cycles meaning more frequent releases.

Or hopefully better playtesting
