The model for the GHOST is so big

By Velvetelvis, in X-Wing

It comes with a new, three pronged stand. It has the standard large ship fitting but there are two arms that branch off to support the ship. They come off at an angle so you've got the ship resting on a tripod style arrangement.

ugh, its almost putting me off from buying one. im not sure i approve of it already. why does it have to be so big and a falcon rip and awesome turret shenanigans for people who smear ice cream over their face?

[oh oops, did i say something wrong? :D ]

Because it's not: it plays arc and uses the turret slot for its turret: it's like the Firespray, TIE phantom and Y-wing all had a weird giant baby.

It's everything I wish the Falcon was.

I'm just pleased that the Jumpmaster is probably going to fit into my storage without needing a massive rearrangement project to take place.

The Ghost is ridiculous, when you design a ship that extends past its base in *all* directions and needs a special stand to stop it collapsing under its own weight, that ship should be an epic ship, regardless of whether that will stop fans of the show playing it.

Or it should be scaled down a bit and who cares that the master scale will not be maintained. Be practical goddamnit.

WTH!

Big Bertha. The epic ship that was too small for Epic and too big for regular. I'm happy FFG was so including and understanding to this ship of abundant size to put it in regular player.

We have have two very large ships that are still 1/277 scale. The Assault Carrier and the Ghost. But the Carrier is Epic and the Ghost isn't. Hmm

Which just means that the Gozanti can run over a Ghost and blow it to smithereens...even though the Ghost is nearly as big.

No way!!! I hadn't thought of that. Cool.

P.S. I wonder if this is any indication that FFG is starting to push us toward larger matches? Still hard to play and Epic tournament but perhaps more events that have tournaments and simply more Epic games on the side.

This really puts the Decimator into perspective. While watching Rebels, I always figured the Decimator was bigger than The Ghost. Reading more about it now, the designers called it "an evil Millennium Falcon".

What's the ship on the right?

Thanks, I knew I knew it, just couldn't think of the name

I am curious how it looks next to the CR-90 since we see it docked to one in the show and since the FFG one is supposed to be slightly smaller.

If you saw Star Wars: REBELS tonight you get to see a bottom up flyby view of both the Ghost and the Shadow Caster together... Shadow Caster is a bit smaller, but not by much. Wave 9/10 are going to have some more BIG ships coming down the pipe.

Yeah, that kind of surprise me when I saw them flying together. I thought the Shadowcaster was smaller than that. Not as long as the Ghost but just as wide...probably not as thick as the Ghost though.

Yes if someone has one handy please post a picture. I'm curious as well.

I have a Plano tray that holds all X-Wing ships and I use it for tournament play. The YV-666 fits snuggly, and only at one weird angle, but it fits.

The Ghost....f*@% you, Ghost! You care nothing for my storage space concerns. NOTHING!!

I suggest popping the halves apart and using the Ghost itself as your storage case, it's more than big enough :v

E: OK, now that I've said this I'm SO tempted to try it and I'm not even buying a **** Ghost.

I'm thinking the photo of the ships lined up are Photo-shopped.. the shadows on the table seem very off

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

A terrorist ship without any agility should be easy pickings...

Not when it's COATED IN LAYERS OF PLOT ARMOUR

Plot armor is the most effective defense. Batman never leaves the cave without it, and he's frakin' invincible.

All I see:
