Why not Cr90 flotilla? Or a small base with just squadrons?

I don't know if this would work, or if it would overlap too much with character squadrons, how about Rogue Squadron or the Imperial 181st. They could be more like elite squadrons stronger then the other types.

Probably too much of an overlap with normal squads, but an idea.

While it might be a bit premature to hop on the bandwagon, why not? I certainly hope we see a BFF design, no matter if it fits the scale or not. There are quite a few designs on paper and in the games they could do this way, should they choose to. The question after that is "Should they?" Time will tell.

People think Wave III are targets. That isn't the case, but BFF-1s would be targets.

Nah. If I recall correctly, they modified more than one of them into carriers for ambush purposes. If they could make the GR-75 flying coffin into a "warship" then the BFF can be retrofitted as well.

After all, I don't think they are cannon as of yet, are they? So they could easily keep the design and change the details.

I am happy about the new functionality brought into the game with the support abilities of the flotillas. I would like to see MORE types of functionality that might lend themselves to specific community created missions / campaigns.

For instance, could we have a Container Transport ship? Like from the old Tie Fighter PC game. Or a bunch of containers? They could be very low points to include (or even negative points) and one fleet could be tasked (via a new objective) with either defending or destroying the transport to receive bonus victory points. The incentive to include might be negative points (to therefore free up points for your fleet) but have essentially no defense, very low speed and a penalty in VP for its destruction. You know, hey, why not?

The Flotilla could also be used to represent Planetary Defense forces or 3rd Faction / Neutral forces (Hutt / Pike / Mandalorian) drawn into a conflict.

Although I would think the CR-90 and Raider would also fit this bill its less a matter of scale vs function. Action IV comes to mind. Seeing a new upgrade type also has promise.

How about the GAT 12. It might be too small but it's no fighter. And it could be an offense heavy Flotilla, at least in regards to killing Squadrons.

Gat 12 Skipray would be better as a single model squadron ship for the Empire. They could do another mixed set like Rogues and Scoundrels, but with the Ghost, Shadowcaster, Otana, and maybe K-Wing. Empire give the Skipray, Shuttle, TIE Punisher, and Decimator

Flotilla ideas:

Rebel-

DP-20 gunships. only slightly shorter than corvettes, but scrawnier.

Hammerhead Transports, that have shown up in Rebels. Also only slightly smaller than corvettes, but again scrawnier.

Imperial-

IPV series System Patrol Craft

I agree that the GAT-12 would be a better Rogue sized ship.
