Wave 3 cards

I have my moments. Not many of them, but I do have them.

I really like your idea though, kinda like mine http://kdyards.com/upgrades.view.php?id=707 but better. Mine was veering a bit towards having shield afs with only this and then having Neb bs at the corners with slaved turrets and spamming cf commands at speed 0. :)

I'm hoping that we see either an upgrade or a rule change to stop the ship shuffling game. If competitive lists end up being ~10 activations, regardless of the rest of the build(s), I think a lot of the entertainment is going to fall off pretty hard. Even playing 3-5 activations and some token squadrons can take forever. If our guesses on the boat-ettes are anything like right, playing against a 15-20 ship build could conceivably bring you to time by turn 3-4.

Au contraire... It alldepends on how fast the players activate.

Had a game where my opponent had 3 ships and 5 TIEIn while I had 2 ships, 7 squadrons. We did it quite fast more so after Boss and his merry squadronmates obliterated 4 TIEIn in round 3

Honestly, I wanted to quote it to myself, so people would not feel the Awkwardness of Saying it to me, and then realising they're supposed to give me a kiss afterwards....

While I do think we will see a high amount of these to increase activations, if too many though, then I think you could inadvertently cripple your fleet due to their low staying and attack power.

Additionally, I think that if these do in fact prove pretty effective as I think they will, based on limited info admittedly, that they will be hunted. It's going to be finding that balance between having too many vs too few.

I noticed they put a "-" on the port and starboard to stop Ackbar flotilla spam!

Edit: But we haven't seen the other ship card yet...

We also haven't seen what upgrade slots these contain.

If turbolasers are an option, then we could see spam, although I don't know if spending 30-40 points would be worth it....

I don't think it's that much of a concern. The GR75's have almost no guns and they're not very durable. Even if they're only, say, 30 points, that's not nothing if it can be one-shotted by, say, a Demolisher with a single accuracy icon to negate the scatter. If you're going to field 5 of these, and I can kill three, that's 90-120 points (depending on their base cost and upgrades) for relatively little effort.

They're going to change up activation advantage for sure, but one imagines they'll have diminishing returns, just like anything else.

I only have eyes for Tarkin. I would happily field 2 Carriers instead of 1 Raider to make Tarkin playable with 4 activations.

Not concerned about spam. 1 shield, 3 hull. One gunnery team = two dead ships. You can't have 6 not ships and 1 Demolisher.

As for Rebels they (1 confirmed) lacks a side battery. I doubt the second would have a battery.

They DO have a scatter. And if they are as fast and manouverable as people are saying...

You will need to bring something that helps with accuracy or intel officers because otherwise you will be wasting arcs on these little bastards and having them scatter. If they are sitting back or kiting while they push a bomber ball they would be very very good against low-squadron lists. Why can't you have 6 flotillas and a demolisher if they are in the high 20s? 30 point range you most certainly can fit 5 and a demolisher and bomber ball at :

- 5 gozantis = 150

- Bombers = 120

- demolisher ~ 86

- Ozzel = 20

and 26 points for gozanti upgrades.

Yeah, with scatter tokens flotilla spam could be very annoying trying to get rid of...

Eh, I feel that's what bombers exist for :D

nvm

Yeah, for sure, but it's going to cost you a few activations.

Lets say the defending player wants to keep the thing alive to run it away next turn, assuming 1 average damage (higher damage results scattered) 2 activations scattered, 4 activations to kill. That's potentially 6 bomber activations which in many cases is your entire bomber contingent. You typically get what? 4 bomber runs a game depending on first contact?

Also will be interesting to see the AS on these. Even with 1 blue die they could be the best ASPP ship in the game depending on their cost. I'm not sure but I think the gozanti might have 1 black AS die but if you get your bombers in too many arcs at once it could quickly start hurting just from the sheer number of the things.

You can tell:

Gozanti has a Black or a Blue, depending on Variant.

One of the GR75s has a Blue.

At least one variant of the Gozanti is tossing a black AS die

I could be wrong here but does Kallus allow quad laser turrets to be counter 2? That might redeem the card (the turrets that is) in my mind. On an ISD or something, it would be nasty

While attacking, so Yep..

Hell, you could even add a Black to your Default Blue counter if you wanted

I would love the flotilla equivalent of Extended Hangers, but the Flotillas are cheap enough it's not a big deal. More important for me will be the equivalent of Boosted Comms to keep them out of trouble.

Blah, it's been my avatar since I've joined.

And I have to admit when I first saw all the hurt and saw that Avatar I couldn't believe Reiryc would say that crap. Then I looked at the name and everything was right in the world.
