I don't think admiral is trolling at all.

He is over the top with some of his posts, but he hasn't said much more than I've seen from others regarding his disappointment in this release. Some people need 'constant' releases for games like these. I see that from all the folks deluding themselves into thinking this is only half a release.

I get where he is coming from as I think do most of you. It's not what he is getting across, it's how he is getting it across.

Anyways admiral.... I get where you are coming from and the frustration at what you consider to be lost time. I think the game is fine and support isn't waning, but like you, I have no way to prove it. I do know that this game, according to ffg, was their highest selling game last year. So I imagine it's not going away with this release.

I hope you keep your stuff and if wave 4 is released with what you want, that you'll be able to jump right back in.

But having read it, I am glad to see fellow educators playing armada too.

I for one, am walking around my house today doing the housework whistling the imperial march, and am happy that:

1. Bombers can now re-roll their dice, holy crap Luke!
2. Both sides get cheap activations! Imperial assault carriers with 2x TIEs will be a staple from now on.
3. Instigator /Kallus/ordnance experts/quad laser turrets is 60 points. Think about this combo for a moment.
4. Rebels taking transports to war now makes sense.
5. Toryn Farr gives upgraded point defence re-route to all ships within distance 1-3. This will shred squadrons.
6. Armada just got upgraded and no previous ships, and few previous cards got made redundant

@D503, Mate, we have seen 2 ships and 5 upgrades and our minds are churning on builds and options. I agree with your take on things and hope that 2 small waves/updates each year would be far more than one big one every year. Smaller and more frequent changes to our builds will be far more entertaining for us, easier on our wallets and easier to control and develop for FFG.

In absolutely unrelated news, "gypsy" is a crappy thing to say, and once a term has been explained to you that it's a racial slur -- or any kind of slur, really -- the polite response isn't to argue and double down, it's to apologize and not use it again (at least until the conversation's over and you've had time to go do your own research on the matter, but very probably it's best to just take the offended party's word for it). It's one thing to be use an ugly term on accident. It's an altogether different beast to argue with someone when they point out your term is an ugly one. This is a forum about starship games, let's ease off a little on the language, huh?

Agreed, except I'd say it's "embarrassing" and not "entertaining."

He needs to do everyone, himself most especially, a favor and just sell his collection and move on (like he said he was doing).

So I'm excited that we have a new element to mess with that really changes the game. I was struggling to find a rebel fighters she'll that wasn't 2afg+yavaris. It's just so efficient it's hard to justify anything else.

But now? We get a ship with 2 squadron for probably less than 30 points. Which means I have more options for 4+ activations and 130 points of squadrons.

But. The Gozanti and the medium transport are boring, and if that's all we get this wave, that's boring. I'll buy them. I'll use them. My mind will be blown by the new options. But the ships are lame. Can we get a big dumb thing too that we can get excited to show our friends?

well to be honest i only really joined Armada and X-wing for the models which are very high quality for how much they are, and are scaled to each other.

Like you, I teach collegiate courses, and the front person for a 20+ club, I buy the lifetime tables, terrain, minis, set up local tournaments, etc. But I've learned after doing stuff like this for almost 10 years now, you need to walk away from one game every now and then. Heck, Armada and Xwing is my groups "other games" when the support nightmare and game imbalance of 40k is just unbearable.
