So what is the health of Armada now??
WAVE III ANNOUNCEMENT
Okay, so these two new ships are SWM18 and SWM19. I don't think they've revealed SWM16 or SWM17 have they?
There are more things coming guys
Still fine, although this is an extremely confusing choice to make from a PR standpoint. I reserve judgement until after Adepticon, in case theres more news coming.
I feel like this is only going to further weaken Armada. those that were on the fence may switch to (or back to) X-wing. Lack of new 'cool' ships isnt going to pull in a ton of new players.
Armada is truly the red-headed step-child now.

There's been dead catalog numbers in X-Wing before, products they were working on and never put out to market. Or things they haven't released yet like the dial covers.
Or they could be two other ships they haven't announced yet, but also ships that may not be part of Wave 3 but will come out latter. Or they may be ships they can't announce yet but will be released with these.
People refused to accept that X-Wing wave 5 was only going to be two ships, until it became clear that was the case. Which means until we know more we can't really know for sure what will happen.

Yep, missing SWM16 and 17. They are either saving something, trolling or both.
Does this announcement show a lacking in confidence of Armada?
NOPE... it just tells us that Chris wants us to love STAR WARS REBELLION... now.

With as much money as it seems to be making FFG, I doubt that. It will likely never get the quite the same support X-Wing does. But you don't just stop making stuff for a line that's selling well, and everything points to Armada still selling.
I am super excited so no problems here.

That's true, but it does suggest that they - at one point anyway - planned for W3 to be more than what we're seeing right now. It's just a question of how that plan fared. Did it fall through, or is it still real.
Also, in X-Wing, weren't the missing product numbers something to do with items that they did announce (accessories of some sort), but then never got around to producing?
Yes, the image looks badly cropped, and the filename does indeed say 'revised'.
Yes but I saw this image in another thread... This is is clearly not cropped.
These are actually two different pictures. This is a symmetrical picture where the flotillas are evenly leveled on either side of 'Wave III'
The picture in the article itself the Gozanti is much higher above the Rebel Transport and the symmetry is obviously off, showing that there is probably something large on the bottom left of that image counter-balancing whatever is on the bottom right:

Well... I guess it's cool... A little underwhelming and in spite of it being 2 Tiny ships we likely won't see wave 3 until October or later...
This is disappointing...
On the bright side I can now run my Clonisher with 2 Expanded launcher raiders in a 8 activation list
Sweet, it looks like I'll be able to afford wave III!
Will there be any advantage to owning multiples of these? I guess you'd get more activations, but do the upgrades stack if you take the same upgrade on multiple flotillas, or would you just benefit from being able to take additional, different upgrades by having more than one on the table?
I'll stubbornly cling to the hope that wave 3 has more to offer!

YUP. I totally expected these two ships to be the little guys in Wave III.
What I did NOT expect was that these are the only two ships of Wave III.

Ah I see what you mean.

Well, we have 3 of the Upgrades spoiled so far...
1 of them involves transferring tokens around.
1 of them is Bombing Dice Rerolls...
1 of them is enhanced repairing of another friendly...
... s o no reason to not have many of them for many effects.

NO!
I am trying to work out whether powering a trio of CR90's through some flotillas would be a good use of points to prevent this mayhem.
I can confidentially say the meta will quickly become 5-9 activation lists with 3-5 of these just for activation superiority. Wave 3 will make 2-3 ship list obsoleteSweet, it looks like I'll be able to afford wave III!

You have said yourself in the past that Activation Advantage only gets you so far... Demolisher is fantastic for a First Strike, but your Fleet has to Fly on its own once Demolisher is Gone - even if it takes out an ISD on its way in and out, the rest of the fleet has to carry its own.
These will definately not carry a fleet on their own...
I call fie on you. Fie and your own contradictory nature!
FIE

I would guess they would stack right?
Certainly repair crews and comm net would stack.
Presumably, if you have multiple bomber centers it would also stack, as we know that you can re-roll the same dice repeatedly so long as different upgrades are triggering. This would be the first time those different upgrades shared a name, but each would be a unique instance of a trigger, so I would assume it stacks. Just keep re-rolling that black bomber die.
I'll stubbornly cling to the hope that wave 3 has more to offer!
A lot of folks did that with X-Wing Wave V too... Uh-Oh!

Nothing would make me happier then to watch you be forced to waist that things first strike on a twenty point ship that scatters the first strike.

No, we have 5 upgrades revealed:
Don't forget:
Agent Kallus, who allows you to hunt named squadrons, and
Toryn Farr who gives friendly ships and squadrons to reroll a blue die.
