WAVE III ANNOUNCEMENT

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

Hmmm 20ish point activations.

. Hmmm

Thats pretty much the only positive of those ships by the looks of things. That said, the rebel captain would combine wonderfully with Galant haven...

Edit: There is a suggestion in there that there may be unique flotilla upgrades which have large ranging effects which could be great. This could get interesting.

VERY weak wave announcement. Not impressed really.

Is anybody else getting access forbidden to all cards but this one?

Keep Reloading Chills.

We've got all the cards in the other thread I think.

I was expecting more.

OH MAN, this is the end of Raymus Taintive isnt it! Comms Net will do it better.

A whole year and all they did was make two TINY ships? Really? If Armada is going to be only one MICRO expansion a year... I might just cry myself to sleep tonight.

I think it is... cause Chris went and fell in love with his STAR WAS Stratego-Monopoly $100 new hotness this year.

We got all of the ships from ROTJ... so shut up and be happy gang! Chris wants us to play $100 Rebellion in our FLGS now so get busy!!!

They have done it before with wave 8 in X-wing, but back then the Image wasn't cropped like this one.

The T-70 and TIE/fo aren't really part of Wave 8. They came out some time ago and to call them part of Wave 8 just doesn't make sense.

There may be more to wave 3 for Armada, because these 2 ships being it, is a little underwhelming.

So on the wave 3 size theory:

  1. Adepticon is right around the corner, so they could be saving some of the announcement firepower.
  2. However, FFG is also having supply chain issues, so they could have cut the wave when it became clear some things wouldn't get done.

This could go either way. We will find out in time. Right now, all we can do is WILDLY and BASELESSLY speculate, which thankfully is the core purpose of internet forums.

It might not make sense.

But it didn't stop it being true.

I'm even going to say that wave III will be asymmetrical, because the Gozanti is way too high in the cropped picture vs. the Rebel transport. So either the Imperials are getting bigger ships (surprising, I know), or they are getting more ships.

Ok the Cropping DOES look off......

So maybe... just maybe you are on to something. If there is more I will do a happy dance to rival all other happy dances. However, I must keep my expectations low.

I'm perfectly fine with these two new ships for the game. Something is better than nothing.

My only concern is how many points they will cost "naked". If they are too cheap we may end up just seeing fleet lists with one super equipped ship and tons of flotillas just for activations.

I'm all about some cheap ship activations...

Kind of indifferent to the scale of the announcement, but I've been a proponent of slow Armada growth for a while. I would not be surprised if they snuck something else in, but I'm really content with just some transports. So it'll be shrugsville from me until we see more of those support upgrades.

Yes, the image looks badly cropped, and the filename does indeed say 'revised'.

But (just because I'm in an uncharacteristic but otherwise jolly nay-sayer mood), it could be that it's revised from the Wave III image at the top (for which we don't have a filename), and the person doing the cropping might be the same person who was in charge of proofreading the Tournament Regulations document.

Hmmm 20ish point activations.

. Hmmm

Bomber Command Center and access to 20 point activations. Those two things alone would throw a heck of a curveball into the meta, I would think. I have personally fallen out of love with TIE Bombers because of how often I seem to whif, but now....

YUP.

;)

FFG did add the TFA X & T to Wave 8, but that was because of MOUSE! That does not apply here with Marda, so it prolly is real for real.

Wave III is just these neat little Transports... PERIOD.

:)

3re quarter... so November like Sullust???

I like how FFG saw how the Rhymer and Fireballs were dominating the Imperial meta and were like: "Here, have something to make it even more devastating. Have fun!"

We spoiled it yeaaaaa

Okay, so these two new ships are SWM18 and SWM19. I don't think they've revealed SWM16 or SWM17 have they?

I've seriously never MEH'd as loud as I just did.

Yes but I saw this image in another thread... This is is clearly not cropped.

Does this announcement show a lacking in confidence of Armada?

I'd be willing to be that because they specifically said "It's two expansions" in the text of the preview, the two expansions are all we are getting in Wave 3. Which is.. weird.
