Assault Carriers and Rebel Transports

By CaribbeanNinja, in Star Wars: Armada

Of course I always want more ships, but I am really happy with these guys, especially the GR-75. I am pretty much always hurting on squadron points for my rebel builds and the bomber command center seems like just what the doctor ordered for X-wing/Y-wing builds! Bomber crit-fishing with dodonna, GR75's, X's, Y's...

This! Exactly this... ;)

Guys, check out the product numbers. These two new ships are SWM18 and SWM19. I don't think they've revealed SWM16 or SWM17 have they?

Correct, there is no SWM16 or SWM17.

FFG, did you spoil your own wave announcement?

That's a great catch... I'm curious as to what we'll see.

My money is still on Interdictor and Quasar carrier.

I hope you're all right and there's something else on the way... But after the 'balls-up' that was the recent tournament document, this could just as easily be an admin error! :(

I highly doubt that this is an admin error. (Hi, sorry, I work in EDI, which is retail document transaction).

Looking at how the item is displayed on Amazon, I can promise you that the SWM numbers are Vendor Item Numbers.

In order to inform retailers as to prices, UPC codes, and any other information that the retailer requires (such as weight, description, volume, etc) the item data will have to be added to the retailers inventory system, usually by way of a UPC Catalogue Service, or an 832 or 846 document.

This would mean that the entire retail and manufacturing department would refer to these items by the same item number pretty consistently throughout manufacturing and distribution.

Edit: someone else pointed out that there are missing item codes for X-wing from way back. This could mean that the items were scrapped before release and the numbers were never recycled for the same reason above.

First part of your post is good to know FoaS, Cheers! :)

The edit... Not so good :(;)

There are x-wing codes for products that never made it to production, but we have always known what they were supposed to be. The only unknown codes have been the few occasions when one product gets announced before a different product with a lower code, as happened with the force awakens x-wing expansions.

Doesn't mean that THIS instance is a pair of secret expansions though.

Argh... the Quasar Carrier is just so ugly. :(

As I said, its possible things were scrapped and the Vendor Item Number wasn't recycled to keep things consistent internally. It is possible that these are upcoming expansions. It is possible we haven't seen all of Wave 3 yet. Who knows :)

Because, y'know, for an Imperial Player, Big Flying Triangles are so passe and all...

Hey, I love me my flying triangles.

But this one looks like a flying triangle that's been stepped on by a moon-sized elephant.

never fear the quazar would probably be rebel like all the other ugly ships

Quite possibly, but then we're going to have flame threads about the Quasar actually being an Imperial ship, and if FFG doesn't come out with an Imperial version right this instant, then they're gonna....

...well, be upset.

How very dare you, sir?! :D

Maybe they're waiting for a Rogue One trailer to show off the other stuff.

X-Wing had missing SKUs for awhile, I wouldnt expect this to be anything different.
