Just wondering/double checking. Assume a ship has fire control system, cluster missles, a target locked ship in range 2.

After firing the first shot 1) do i receive the target lock now? 2) am I able to use it on the 2nd shot?

Or is the entire attack considered 1 shot? (even though it says perform this attack twice) Meaning you receive the target lock after the entire attack is over?

Does Gunner work the same way?

To me the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, and gunner yes. But i have been told otherwise.

Yes, Fire Control System gives you the opportunity to acquire a target lock after each attack--including between attacks, if you have some way to make more than one. That includes both Gunner and Cluster Missiles.

The combination of Gunner and FCS is sometimes called the Buzzsaw. For a while it was popular on the Lambda-class shuttle, and it's still a very effective loadout for Whisper.
