Using the Nebulon-B

By Englishpete, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I wanted to try a Nebulon-B list and I wanted them able to move and fire all the time regardless of the direction they are facing.

This list allows that, has 5 activations, decent fighter cover and a good bid for first player.

The idea is to use them in a similar way to that of the ancient Egyptians use of light chariots.

I've tried a mass Neb list a few times and am now convinced that they are best being used with a title or not at all. Nevertheless-

Mon Mothma or Riekan should be your Admiral or choice- Mothma gives you so much more survivability, and Riekan makes getting one shot, as Nevs are prone to do, much easier to swallow when you can ram and shoot back.

I would run XI-7s over slaved turrets. Red Dice do not give accuracies often, so being able to concentrate your damage really helps. It also means you can shoot twice, and with the Neb's massive sides, this is almost always an option. More attacks is almost always better than big attacks.

As I said, take Salvation, its too good. I also think Jaina's Light is amazing- it makes a lot of objectives free to take, plus makes focusing a ship through another possible.

Nebs will find it hard to get round the sides to the rear- drop Superior Positions for Minefields to make a flank less appealing for your opponent.

I used to run slaved turrets on 4 of my 5 Neb list and slowly took them off to get more fighters. Once I realised it isn't optional to fire one shot I ditched them apart from on the Salvation where I keep the upgrade to benefit from the 5 red dice (with C/F) and the double damage crit results.
