This is exactly what we will see. At GAMA, FFG said the App would be released "end of April"...this is the last week of April and Apps get released to the iOS App Store on Thursdays. The same slide at GAMA also said that the PC/Steam version was coming at a later date.

It's very poor marketing management on their behalf. Why start marketing a product if you can't deliver it within 60 days?

Product announcements are normally a long period before it get's delivered.

I mean some products are announced before it's even clear they get really produced.

Just because they announce they MAKE a product doesn't mean they have to make it in a specific time frame.

Some companies announce their products even years before it gets published/released/delivered.

You are correct. Unless the company puts a time fence around it and says, "in just a few weeks". When I was a kid, I was taught that "a few" was more than a couple (2) and less than several (4 or more). They just probably should not have put mention of such a short time frame in their news articles. Typically, when a mfr. says a few weeks, it's understood that release is iminent and production delays are past them. No biggie though. They are obviously as excited about this as most of us are!

The actual text in the only app teaser article from FFG has been quoted numerous times (I won't do it again here) and it specifically promises an entirely new way to experience D2E. Whoever these theoretical confused people are, they should reread the release article. Theoretically.

On Bgg I have not checked... But on the FFG video at the end we can see Google Play and Steam... So at some point it should be available for Android and pc

Now the claim made on BGG is that this release we are all waiting for is just the Apple version and that the other formats will follow down the line. Summer maybe.

This application will be a great addition to a great game! There are the games nights where I love being the Overlord, crushing the unlikely heroes in defeat, laughing at my friends as I do so. Other nights, I wish I could join them in their adventures. I have high hopes for this application, and can not wait to get playing. I am not scheduling the next game night until this application releases...oh the wait, how long will I have to wait?!

If you are like me and would like to know the moment the application release is announced, I found a way. Utilizing IFTTT (IF This Then That), I have configured my phone to receive a notification each time the FFG - News RSS Feed gets a new entry.

I know there is more than one way to skin a...barghest, this is my preferred method. My phone is always on me and I want to know the moment this goes live! Don't get me wrong, I will still visit the FFG webpage daily, this just stream lines updates.

The core game is no less fun because you do not yet know when the app will be released on your device of choice. The game is still great without the app, and you have lost nothing at all by purchasing it.

You're just disappointed because you were excited to play it in the next week, we all understand that, but being annoyed about it on the forums won't really help. Just relax, sit back, look through your lovely box of goodies, and at some point soon you will be able to solo it with the app

@Atom: If one doesn't take the time to educate themselves with the information FFG already released, then asks a question that'd be answered had they done so that is not confusion: That is ignorance of already stated facts. Read the release article. Watch the release video (aside: available on Android, iOS, Steam, OH MY!). Anyone who takes the time to do those two things will have no confusion or ignorance of what FFG has promised, and specifically they've addressed campaigns in both forms of media.

It should released for iOS and Android at the same time. I believe only Steam was mentioned as being a later release date.

I don't want to watch any trailers or read any articles but can someone tell me if it will it work on my new Fitbit Blaze or my Kobo?

What exactly was wrong with what dafrca wrote? He was just frustrated with himself. Had some bad information or misunderstood it. He wasn't complaining at FFG or anyone else. He was venting and is obviously excited to play the game.

It's pretty obvious that he's a solo player and, yeah... having the core set and no other players IS less exciting. If you can't play the game solo and have no group, the core set is, in fact, kinda useless. Perhaps as a way to help a new player we could point him in the direction of the 3 print and play modules that do support coop and solo play. I for the life of me cannot understand the myopia on this board. Not everyone plays like everyone else. Not everyone has the same opportunity to create gaming groups. Which is exactly why FFG, knowing their consumers better than we on this group, chose to develop this app.

Dafrca, if you look on the product page for Descent, you will find a heading called "Co-op Play". There are 3 adentures available for 14.95 each that play similarly to how this app will likely play. At least a portion of what will be offered in the app. I have all 3 and, while not capturing the full spirit of D2E, it is pretty fun to play co-open or solo!
