Road to legend

By Volkren, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I would also say that the app needs to work great that will solidify the future of this game and also Imperial Assault since this app will almost 100% chance be adapted for both games.

A couple extra months is small price to pay for great app. Now if November comes around and no app.... eh..

November??!!! Dont say that or some people have a heart attack :P . The target for release date still end of April .

The games seem to be really similiar, or why does everyone seem to think the app will be for both or be adapted for Imperial Assault.

Maybe I should take a look at that game.

Also: November? I hope they don't take THAT long.... though I would still be pretty excited about it. ;)

Greetings fellow adventurers!

I for one am greatly looking forward to the release of this App! I would much rather it work well from the beginning rather than get something that has numerous bugs. Obviously there will be patches to fix things as they come up. Once all of us Descent players begin to really use the App more issues will probably come to light. That being said - I can not wait for it to be released!

Everyone knows by now that this Dwarf is ready!

As stated, late April release, still some time to go before anyone declares the Delayed Witch Hunt Commencement Ceremony...

And this is from the guy who is supermegasexcitedhouldbeashamedofmyselfbutamnot to get my hands on this app!

Refreshing FFG page two times a day (morning and evening) and hoping for news about app.. still nothing :D I just hope, that instead of news about it, it just gets realeased as surprise any day now..

It's very poor marketing management on their behalf. Why start marketing a product if you can't deliver it within 60 days?

Huh

It's very poor marketing management on their behalf. Why start marketing a product if you can't deliver it within 60 days?

Product announcements are normally a long period before it get's delivered.

I mean some products are announced before it's even clear they get really produced.

Just because they announce they MAKE a product doesn't mean they have to make it in a specific time frame.

Some companies announce their products even years before it gets published/released/delivered.

Isn't that the way they always do it? Stewards of the Secret was announced the 12th of October, and its not out yet. Road to Legend was announced on 15th of March, that's a little more than 30 days ago, not 60.

Anyway, from what I've been reading in this thread, I have a feeling that a lot of people will be disappointed :P

I *hope* not but you're probably right.

It's just with all the "omg! this will make me want to play descent again, cause now I can play it alone/we can play it co-op" but at the same time the co-ops (which are roughly the same as the app) have already been available for quite a while, but that didn't interest them? There still seem to be a lot of people who think this simulates a normal game of descent, instead of the co-ops (while everything we've seen of it so far is a digital version of the co-op expansions).

That's not saying this isn't a far superior way to do the co-ops, I for one am glad to see for example that tiles and monsters of the expansions you own will come in to play.

Well, my friend have a boardgame store. He told me most of the time in the last year he sold a core box, people also took one or more POD along.

I guess FFG have seen a big interest/demand in the coop to invest in a app. But as you say, this will not simulate a normal game of descent, but a coop with a complete campaign and the ability to use all that you have still pretty goood for me ;)

Just awesome, simply awesome. I pray that the Overlord AI is sound and not glitchy.

There still seem to be a lot of people who think this simulates a normal game of descent...

Really? Who is still confused about that? Who said that? The actual text in the only app teaser article from FFG has been quoted numerous times (I won't do it again here) and it specifically promises an entirely new way to experience D2E. Whoever these theoretical confused people are, they should reread the release article. Theoretically.

It's clear that the App is only here to replace POD. It will work the same, but you will be able to use any monster, classes, and heroes, all tiles and everything you own, that's all.

So no "normal descent game", but more "normal coop POD system" for sure

FFG knows what they are doing, I've never had any desire to get Descent because I was so wrapped up in IA, but because of this app and the ability to play co-op with my gaming buddy, this made me run right out and buy a core set. All this app has done, is attract more people to this game, which is never going to be a bad thing.

Exactly, well put. I find my IA group is foaming at the mouth to try this app out when Descent was fourth or fifth on our lists before hand.

FFG has struck gold and I hope everyone enjoys the new content that is produced for their game as a result of the sales from the App, regardless of whether they use the app or not. They owe the life of this game to that app. Bitter sweet for some!

I for one can't wait for the App to be released. It will make our gaming group a lot happier and will allow me the fun of slinging it out alongside the other players! Now, we just need FFG to actually RELEASE it...

Five days in late April!

It's the last week of April!

We need news! ^_^
