I hope it will be something from the movies or, if not, from Rebels. A new Falcon, the Special Forces TIE. That sort of thing.
WAVE IX: Taking Bets and Predictions, Hopes and Dreams!
What I think we'll get: I think the Scurrg is pretty spot on, since Scum are currently lacking a heavy bomber, well, unless you count the Andrasta...
The Aggressor is a Large bomber - but it's not exactly got much in the way of bomb carrying capacity.
What Scum needs is a counterpart to the K-Wing and the Punisher - but I think the Scurrg is a bit large to be a Medium heavy bomber.
Tie Hunter, Tie Breacher, Recon X-wing, R-41 starchaser, snowspeeder and cloudcar with atmosphereic rules please!
TIE Breacher?
and launching pods for boarding through hull of another ship..
Oh, that's the official name? I always found it as "unidentified TIE model" in the web.
BTW, is this what you are looking for?

IMPERIALS
Alternatively: The Ark Angel http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ark_Angel (possibly giving Imps a ship that can deploy another in standard play, rather than just Epic).
Yes please! The Ark Angel is a fantastic looking ship. Bearing in mind who owns it, a Scum crossover would totally work too.

I don't know much about this ship, just the quick look on the wiki, but it appears to mostly be very similar in design to a Firespray? While cool paint job and all I would be more interested in something a little different. Although the Imps NEED deployment ships (can't believe the Rebs were the first to get a standard play deploy ship, in The Ghost), there should be a better candidate I would think.
I would really like to see some T-65 love in a "Veterans" type pack. Maybe call it "Rebel Special Forces" and include a bunch of Wraith squadron pilots and astromechs.
Maybe titles as well, such as:
1) "StealthX" title - 1 point title card, similar to Stealth Device
2) "T-65 XJ" title - 4 point title card, adds a second ordinance spot, and a SLAM action (think closing of S-foils for speed)
Skipray Blastboat with an Ion primary weapon - Imp or Scum.
Assault Gunboat - Imp
TIE Scout - Imp (HWK'ish)
Action VI - Scum Epic
HT-2200 - Scum
Assault Shuttle - Imp
Ugly Aces - Scum
Missile Boat - Imp

You're probably right, I just rather love the ship!
I am still thinking TIE/sf for the imperials/First Order (missile, tech, crew slots), special firing arc - at the start of the attack phase place your gunner token in either the forward or rear arc. (Resembles an isoceles trapezoid and connnects to the movement nubs - an arc extender, so no need to redesign the card layout) If placed in the forward, increase your primary attack by one red. If placed in the rear, you may make an attack at one red in the rear arc or fire missile weapons from that arc.
Rebels/Resistance and scum will get the YT-1300 Force awakens with Rey pilot, Finn crew, scum pilots Trex (with Krayt Fang title) and Unkar Plutt pilot (ability: when revealing your dial, you may instead do a speed 0 red maneouvre, then deal face up damage card to yourself).
There will also be a new Millennium Falcon title that gives the illicit slot, rebels/resistance can use it, and the new illicit upgrade SLAM drive.
Scum will get the scurrg h-6.
First Order will get the Upsilon class shuttle, poor dial, great shields and TWO system slots. (Those huge wings house powerful shield generators and sensors.
Outside of the wave there will be a two ship pack for the rebels and resistance. A T-65 with the design and pilots from the Rogue One movie, and an orange and black T-70 with the pilots: Nien Numb, Jessika Pava and Temmin "Snap" Wexley. There will be a new dual upgrade card that can be flipped mid game, modification slot, action to flip, s-foils: one side treat as normal x-wing card, other side, lower your attack and treat forwards as green.
This is all conjecture on my part, but a guy can dream.
Rebel Veterans, because E-Wing pilots not named Corran Horn need some love.
That is actually going to be the official, full name of the expansion.
I would like a Rogue Squadron pack with Horn in a X Wing and a card for Whistler and a green X Wing for him. Then maybe some more Rogues in X Wings and a pilot card for Tycho in a Shuttle with no primary attacks or something like how they have him in the first book. Or even better a Pulsar Skate to go with this and a pilot card for Mirax or Booster. But that is just me I dont think it will happen but it would be cool

Horn in an X-Wing is a must for a "Rebel Veterans". Maybe Luke for E-Wing too?
The Gunboat isn't happening, its ugly as hell and breaks the Empire theme badly. The issue with the sf is that it basically just looks like a repaint of the LN or the FO. A new ship really needs to be visually distinct without breaking faction theme and also bring something new to the table. Skipray would be a good one for scum as it is widely known from multiple media sources and would fill the medium heavy bomber role that they lack. I'd really like to see more astromech slotted Rebel ships, the droids are a big thing for rebels lore wise. My big guess is that wave 9 will draw heavily from Rouge One as it is a full theatrical movie focused exclusively on starfighter squadrons.
(...)My big guess is that wave 9 will draw heavily from Rouge One as it is a full theatrical movie focused exclusively on starfighter squadrons.
Not sure yet that it really concentrates on starfighter squads, as the story is about the Death Star plans, or isn't it? Could be a lot of ground action.
First Order: TIE/SF. Rear arc, crew, tech, missile, and cannon slot
Imperial: Tie Aggressor: Turret slot
Scum: Skipray blastboat. Larger small base ship like the Punisher/Kwing with cannon, turret, missile, crew slot. Mara Jade, and Kenix Kil as named pilots. White K-turn (since it was the ship that originated the K-Turn in lore)
Scum: H-6. Two bomb slots, turret slot, Nym pilot.
Rebel: Ravens Claw is a good idea, actually.
Rebel Veterans: X-Wing with Corran Horn and new pilot from Rogue One movie, painted in Rogue One colors. Y-Wing with Leia and Tiree as pilots. Released as a tie in to Rogue 1 in december (like how the TFA starter was)
Resistance Aces: Falcon with square dish, Orange painted X-wing. Snaps and Jessika as T-70 pilots, Rey, Finn as Resistance YT-pilots. Add scum dial and pilots for YT-1300. Unkar Phutt, Aeron Azzameen, Ducaine, Outer Rim scoundrel. Finn and MK crew cards.
Star Jewel (small) Huge with Jabba crew, scyk repaint with Hutt bodyguard
Action VI transport Huge, with Wild Karrde and Interceptor Frigate titles, Aves, Karrde, Mara Jade crew cards.
Y-wing doesn't have a crew slot, so TIE/sf shouldn't get one either. Only the ships with copilots, passenger space or weapon systems officers get crew slots.
Isn't the second person in a TIE/sf basically a "weapons system officer" - and not just a gunner?
Yes, I think so, exactly like in Y-wing.
I meant "weapons system officers who don't have to man any turrets".
Edited by eMeMY-wing doesn't have a crew slot, so TIE/sf shouldn't get one either. Only the ships with copilots, passenger space or weapon systems officers get crew slots.
The only y-wing with a gunner, by canon, is the one with the bubble turret from Clone Wars. If they did that as a model, then a crew slot makes sense.
People are getting hung on the number of seats in the TIE/sf and not what the crew slot would represent for a special forces craft.. Special forces generally focus on unconventional tactics, which crew such as weapons engineer (think omega leader with two target locks!) or a fast agile fighter that can stay out of arc and triggers saboteur? If the ship has three attack in front arc, then gunner can be useful. I'm not going to go through every possible crew upgrade, but the crew slot would add versatility to an attack craft - think of a mobile and decent attacking Hwk-290 for the Empire/First Order.
Also, the focusing on the actual seating is rather facetious, because if we apply that "logic" to the lambda shuttle, that vehicle would have maybe 4-12 crew slots, it did carry all the main characters in cockpit in Return of the Jedi, as well as a whole asssult team.
If we want to apply logic, the empire shouldn't be able to use the default gunner card as it has a wookie on it. Let alone I don't remember seeing ughnauts manning the weapons and targeting of the death star.
The upgrades have a thematic feel, but they are not necessarily meant to be taken literally. Shouldn't the x-wing have 6 torpedo slots?
The TIE/sf with a crew slot works because it has the seating capacity, and the special forces designation works with applying some useful crew in an unconventional way for a TIE Fighter. Mara Jade in a maneouvreable TIE swarm would be awesome!
I'm still holding out for Starkiller. I saw Sam Witwer on Rebels Recon last night and it just makes me really want to see him become canonized or at least show up as a Legends character in X-Wing.

It goes like that:
- does it have any more crew than a pilot and a gunner? Yes, then add a crew slot.
- does it have much more crew than a pilot and a gunner? Yes, then add more crew slots. How much depends on balance/flavour.

An updated Luke in anything would be great!
Alpha Class XG-1 "Star Wing" Assault Gunboat for the Empire (and yes, that has to be the full ship name on both the pilot cards and dial). Sienar's TIE series is about to jump the snark; it's time for Cygnus Spaceworks to ascend.
GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat for the Empire (because they could do with another large base ship, and they could also do with a ship with the Turret upgrade slot) or Scum
YT-2000 for Scum (let's get the rest of the Azzameen family out there) or the Rebels
Because it hasn't been mentioned near enough, Gunboat!
Though there's plenty of other stuff I'd like to see. The Tie Avenger would be cool, as would the Skipray
