Nuts, the X-wing builder I use doesn't say that, and I haven't seen a picture of the actual card. I only recently found this sight and am still learning the locations of stuff.

I just predict now that the next wave won't have anything I want. That way I'm either correct, or pleasantly surprised.
I'm at the point where I no longer care about uniqueness between the factions, so I think it would be cool if they did something like:
Scurrg (with Rebel and Scum pilots)
Skipray (with Imperial and Scum pilots)
Ship X (with Rebel and Imperial pilots)
Although fulfilling that last dual combo might be difficult. At the same time, Scum still need to catch up a lil bit (by 1 or 2 ships), so I'd be equally thrilled if they did: Scum/Rebel ship, Scum/Imperial ship, Scum-only ship
Imperial: Updilon class shuttle, and/or TIE/sf
Rebel: Resistance troop transport
Scum: Scurrg
TIE/sf is a shoe-in, but I'd really like to see the Scummiest of ships make its debut: the Cloakshape Fighter. How is it not out yet?
Rebels are kind of borked; about the only thing that makes sense at this point is the Pulsar Skate, and I think that's a longshot. They've run out of mainstream letter-wings, though I suppose the R-41 and T-wing could be things...

I'd absolutely love the Pulsar Skate, but doubt we'll be getting another large base ship for scum yet since they already have 4. There's several candidates in the comics/books/etc that could be used in the new canon though.
Edit: Totally misread that as scum somehow, not rebel (in my defense, the Pulsar Skate could totally work for both)

For the same reasons I didn't build all my Space Marines in exactly the same pose, despite them all being identically armed.
Because I like visual and aesthetic differences, even when functionality is the same.
Because variety is the spice of life.
And because we see X-Wings with their s-foils closed throughout the trilogy, so why not in the game as well.

Because X-Wings are in combat, so they have their S-Foils locked in combat position. Imagine how stupid they'd look with them closed in the middle of combat...

I'm probably the minority here but I don't want to see any new ships. I want to see some new cards, maybe some new paint jobs on old ships. Acrylic tokens and such. Let's enjoy and work through what we have.

This makes perfect sense! Though, I imagine that FFG make a decent amount do money from new ships, so would be unwilling to sacrifice that.

An exceptional case (launch of a new faction), but still reprints/repaints as part of a new full wave.
I do agree with what you're saying though, Vorpal - ifbwe get a preview of Wave 9, it's probably not going to include an Aces or Veterans pack.
Based off of Alex Davy's interview we might see them include prequel ships at somepoint down the line, but as for this wave I think what we might see are:
Imperial:
TIE/sf: The shoe in for the wave unless they decide to do one ship for both the Empire and the First Order.
Assault Gunboat: Just wishful thinking on my part.
Rebels:
T-Wing: They have exhausted most of the ships they use and its from the X-wing games, though who knows maybe we might get the H-wing instead.
Resistance Shuttle: If they feel the need to add something for the Resistance from TFA.
Scum:
Gauntlet Fighter: Not sure if they have had enough time to add this ship considering its debut in the recent season of Rebels, though if it isn't in this wave it very may well end up in the next one.
YT-2000: It would allow them to include the protagonist from each of the X-wing games into the miniature game, plus it would kind of be interesting if the Scum faction had a focus on larger ships. Though maybe they could have it where it needs to take a turret upgrade instead of having it built in or maybe having auxiliary side arcs so it doesn't edge into the Jumpmaster's or Falcon/Outrider's PWT space.
I just want to say im disappointed in OP for not making the Title "Hopes, Dreams, and Tractor Beams"
I guess the exception is the Gunboat, because the Empire don't have a SLAM capable craft, but even then it'll tread on the Punisher's toes a bit as a 'heavy, unmaneuverable bomber'
Hey now. Be mindful which ship is actually doing the treading. That punisher stole what rightfully belonged to the starwing.
The Assault Gunboat is a B-wing/Y-wing. If the Punisher stole anyone's thunder it was the Missile Boat's.

True, but there was no precedent for repaints before Imperial Aces, no precedent for fix cards before Rebel Aces, no precedent for giant ships before Rebel Transport and no precedent for non-Rebel non-Imperial ships before Wave VI.
Thing is, they're a little out of material barring the TIE/sf. Wave 9 is probably going to be a total curveball like Wave 7.

What we will get:
Imperial: Special Forces TIE
Rebel: Some hateful ship from Rebels or barely-noticed add in from Force Awakens
