New FAQ soon: Think they'll reverse any recent rulings?

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing

They missed Tarn/OL interaction. It's not like emperor, but it's also not like other dice mods. R4-b11 does something similar, right?

Is forcing a modification by the opponent the same as actually modifying their dice?

r7 re-rolls dice

re-rolling dice = dice modification; no dice

tarn's ability works as normal, it just does diddlysquat

It looks like they have a contradiction on Feedback Array. The Blinded Pilot ruling on page 6 says you cannot use Feedback Array when you're under the effects of that crit, as you do not get the opportunity to attack. The Feedback Array ruling on page 13 says you can. I'm assuming the latter is only in regards to the old damage deck?

i think it means it doesnt count as an attack, so you stay blinded, but you can Feedback.

This card should read:
“When defending, if you are inside the attacker’s firing
arc beyond range 2 or outside the attacker’s firing
arc, you may change 1 of your blank results to a
result. You can equip this card only if you have the
action icon.”
no more corner case turrets!

ANother big change, they changed the way incorrect dials work.

EDIT Nevermind, it was word clarification.

How so?

That's how I interpreted it. You can either clear the Blinded Pilot or Feedback Array. I think it's lame you can't FA on rocks now. It contradicts the ruling that FA doesn't count as an attack.

Clarification on wrong # of dice rolled.

The language they used 'dice modifications originating from the target locked ship' implies that R4B11 etc are blocked by OL, but doesn't outright state it. Which I would still maintain is not actually what his card says, but it shows clear intent as to how OL was supposed to work. I'm happy to accede on that point, if I ever actually face a ship with one of those upgrades...

It's a good errata. Simplifies it.

Still no clarification on Dengar no R5-P8.

Also, Tractor Beam's too strong. Either chance for double damage and/or double stress.

its not 'too strong' it does no damage itself and sacrifices your primary attack normally (Tie/D)

Yes, but it also saves you from damage as if you hit someone, you can toss them onto a rock where they can't even shoot back. And now you could also get damaged twice for it.

But in either case, I'm going to stick to my debris tokens like before, but I suspect we'll see more large rocks on tractor beam lists.

so two damage two stress is too good? why not start with the stresshog. at least that is almost guaranteed damage

I will say, I am liking some what Baron Ruder can do against TLTs.

Maneuver reference cards still fine according to OP on Facebook.

i often find myself being like "wait can that ship do that?" is there a link in MJ's pinned post that has all the cards?

HAHAHAHAHA.....yes there are a few people that are surprised. There were those guys that were insisting that they would be able to trade title cards. I'm so happy that this answer is finally done so those people can stop with that nonsense.

That is the best thing about the FAQ in my mind.

Oh, and no Auto Thrusters when the Inquisitor fired. Very happy to have that answered and it's the way I probably would've ruled it. Just happy to have that answered without any more stupid fighting.

personally, I'm digging the ruling on the TAPs

though I doubt you'll ever see rudor because of the inquisitor, the ship was quickly shaping up to be the most underwhelming of the wave. At least now the named pilots have some extra umph to them

inquisitor, at least, will be nasty

So by that logic, I guess "Raider-class Corv. (aft)" can't take the Instigator, Impetuous and Assailer title cards, since they all specify that they may only be attached to something called "Raider-class corvette aft section." Right, FFG? You printed three worthless title cards that attach to a ship card you've never released?

Well, they fixed Autothrusters to take care of some really odd corner cases.
