I want give both a try separately in funsies lists. Do I bother with the individual expansion or will the Rebel Aces expansion fit the bill.

Rebel Aces gives cards that are important to the Awing, and useful to the Bwing. If you arnt getting both, I'd go for the Aces pack.

A wings and B wings are simply part of the backbone of the Rebelion. Unless you want to fly a closed list that does not include.them, Rebel Aces is a must.

Rebel Aces is better value and has more interesting pilots IMO. Go for that.

Get Rebel Aces if you don't already own it. To run A-Wings you basically need Chardaan Refit, and the named pilots for both ships are far superior in the Aces box. Note that you'll miss out of Push the Limit and Fire-Control System if you only get the Aces pack though.

The only thing you will be missing is Fore-Control system, which I think is a must for Bwings, but that's just me.

The best pilots come in the individual expansions. The best upgrades come in Aces set. There is a kind of smile that only can be created by flying Tycho.
