Wave 8 is the first wave I haven't pre-ordered, and now I'm nervous.

Where are people even finding the Jumpmaster? Both CSI and MM are out of stock already. Also can't find any on Amazon.

You may have typed "Jumpmaster" instead of "Punishing One." Which is probably why a bunch of exercise equipment kept coming up. :-)

Lol. I actually typed Punishing One, but use the term Jumpmaster on here, since most use it. Note on your link that those are not in stock and available until March 23rd. Since I have a distinct lack of patience, I was trying to find something TODAY.

The saga continues! I took an early lunch to be at my FLGS when they opened. The guy right in front of me in line bought their entire Wave 8 stock, except for two TAPs and two Mist Hunters.

How many Ghosts did he buy, or I guess more the question how many did they get in stock? Because unless it was like 1. I think that's a bad job of the store. If they have limited stock they shouldn't let one person buy all of it.

well, gotta start working with the underdogs :P

got a TAPs and Hunter, working to see how they'll gel with some lists tonight

looking forward, as it turns out the g1-a is a stunning model :o

That sucks Vorpal. At least with the TAPs* and Mist Hunter you'll have access to tractor beams and guidance chips.

To me at least, those are the most exciting upgrades.

I love it! LOL - It's this kind of prack addiction that will keep all the FLGS open for years to come.

Not mocking you, I'd be right there too busting down the doors at the FLGS if I didn't have six dependents!

He bought three Ghosts. I didn't ask, but I have a feeling some of them were for resale on the secondary market.

The Wave 8 list I'm most interested in running uses a Ghost. :( I'll try again this afternoon (this was last week's shipment, apparently, and their distributor delivers on Thursdays?), and if I can't get one I'll be running Palpatine Aces again at my March 23 SC.

He bought three Ghosts.

That's just bad business on his part. Selling the whole stock to one guy will do little more then drive away other customers. I'm very loyal to my LGS, the owner has become a friend. He honestly doesn't make much if anything and if he were to go out of business I'd be looking at an hour drive to the next nearest store.

So I do pretty much anything I can to make sure he sticks around, and if that means having to wait a week or three to get something I'm fine with that.

But if I lived closer to the Twin Cities where there's a lot of good stores, and one of them did something like that, I'd just go somewhere else and buy everything from that other store.

First off, that sucks. It is possible he wanted the three attack shuttles, but...

Out of curiosity what's your Ghost list? The best one I can come up with right now is a 49 point Hera (AB, Chewie, Title, FCS) with a pretty bare Sabine (AB, LW), and either a 26 point hog or Biggs with R4-D6.

Three Ghosts? I was thinking of getting one for me and another for a friend. She doesn't play X-Wing at all but she love Rebels. Ulterior motive alert; I get all of the cards of course.

Well it's odd that you say that. We, my wife and I, prefer to buy from local people when we can. But our LGS has made it a little difficult. I don't pre-order but he know I get at least 1 of every large and minimum of 2 of every small. His prices are higher but, as I said we try to support the local little family owned operation. My wife knows his prices are higher yet in the past she has encouraged me to buy from him. A few waves ago the only ship he had left for me had a crushed package; no damage thankfully. Then we was 'allocated' and the guy before me got everything. He knew I will filling in gaps and wasn't just getting the just the new releases, extra Y, A, TIE and just in addition to the latest wave. But he had nothing. So I ordered everything from CSI, drove down and guess what! They had it all. The last wave he was few ships short so I can to drive to CSI again.

I'm trying but he's making it hard. Today we tells me his shipment won't be in until tomorrow so..... we'll see. Lately even my wife has said to give up and go where it's available and the prices are better. Oddly enough I've stopped playing at his store and started playing at CSI so maybe it's time to move my purchases there.

I honestly believe you should buy where you play. If you can buy for less there, all the better.

My Mist Hunter is waiting for me to pick up tomorrow. Good times.

Vorpal, check MM again for Ghost.

I'm still hoping for more Punishing Ones to pop up.

I'm trying to buy where I play, especially since I'm not buying in volume this time around.

My local joint did something kind of silly (imo) and offered all of their incoming stock for "preorder" a couple of days ago (as opposed to the normal procedure of taking actual preorders far in advance, and then ordering that many extra copies on top of whatever they want on their shelves).

When I walked in there this morning to get Wave 8 I was told they had nothing but Mist Hunters available. So I bought one, but another store I don't ever play at is gonna get my $150 Jumpdollars later tonight.

If my FLGS would actually do X-Wing events I'd buy some stuff from it, but because they won't I buy at home online... where I play.

Not gonna lie guys I had a tough time making it through those first two pages. Lol. First they didn't get a long. Then there were memes. And then you get to page 3 and they are buddies kind of!? Roller coaster of emotions haha. Vorp if you have difficulty finding them later let me know, my guy owns 3 shops and usually has stuff even when they are bonkers online and I finally got a loyalty discount outta him, it isn't MM pricing but it is better than ebay pricing before the reprints come.

To preorder or not to pre-order that is the question. If you wait until the expansion is available to buy, you might not get it release day one. But if you pre-order months in advance, you'll have to complain that what you get isn't what was advertised in the early spoler articles. What to do?

Me? I pre-ordered, and I'll just make do with whatever upgrades come with the expansions. It probably helps that I haven't already planned out what squads I'm going to use from wave eight and ordered precisely what I needed to make them...

* Edit * Whoops, used a five letter alternative to "complain" that got bleeped out.

Vorp, my FLGS isn't gonna run out any time soon (since it's FFG). Ping me on FB if you need anything. I won't be back into town till early next week, but I can just add it to my pre-order and ship you whatever.
