I've either pre-ordered my stuff or bought from FFG at GenCon for almost four years now, but I didn't pre-order Wave 8 due to falling uncomfortably close to a heavy tax year for me.

Somebody owes me a TIE Adv. Prototype from a while back, and I did some work for someone who promised to buy me a Mist Hunter when it came out, and I have store credit at an FLGS, and my wife has obliquely suggested that I leave something unpurchased as a potential Easter gift. So with everything going on, I figured I'd just pick this wave up piece by piece as I go along, rather than ending up with extras I don't use but can't bear to sell off. (Yeah, I know, #firstworldproblems)

But it comes out THIS WEEK, and the folks who owe me stuff are curiously silent on whether and when they'll be coming through, and when did people start giving each other Easter gifts anyway? And it looks my favorite FLGS ordered about a third of what I expect them to sell given local Store Championship attendance, and the other can't tell me whether they expect to get Wave 8 in at all.

And of course Miniature Market is sold out of the Ghost and the JumpMaster! Someone please reassure me that I won't be the last X-wing player on earth to actually be able to run the Wave 8 stuff I'm interested in.

My FLGS notified us that the supply fell very short of demand. Everything is sold out already.

I was actually about to place pre-order for Ghost on MM today. They said if you can add it to your cart they will have one for you when they arrive Thursday. They are a day behind on shipping though due to lots of orders.

I went to preorder the Ghost from an eBay guy, and he was sold out.

Then I went to Miniature Market, and it was sold out.

Lastly, I preordered it at Coolstuff inc.

I know the feeling man, can't help freaking out when a new wave gets close...and I was trying to get into the game when it was impossible to find a wings and interceptors for a fair price....

But we all know amazon and the other online stores will have plenty of stock in no time.

I have never preordered a wave and i always get them in about the same month they are released.

Don't worry you can get your ships in 6-8 months after the release date with new production wave. Should be just in time for Wave 9 and a new Meta.

The brick and mortar places near me (and I believe places online) allow you to pre order as soon as the product has an announced msrp.

My advice is to order a ship or two as soon as they get announced and then a few more every few weeks. Spreading $30 to $60 over 4 paychecks helps the X wing addiction be more manageable.

Haven't tried this online though. Depending on the shipping situation it may not be feasible.

I preordered my Wave 8 back in October. My FLGS always runs out on release day, so if I don't preorder there, I'm not able to buy there.

I haven't ordered my second ghost and I'm super-nervous about low stock.

... we're used to the stuff arriving the month after the wave releases officially.

I assure you that you will not be the last X-Wing player on earth to actually be able to run the Wave 8 stuff. Why? Last year I went a little crazy on buying ships, so I promised my wife I wouldn't buy anymore ships for myself this year, only taking ships as gifts that others buy for me. As such, I'm dependent on her goodwill (and ability to find ships since the closest store is 30ish minutes away) to end up with any Wave 8. All this in spite of the fact that I'm a huge bounty hunter fan and need to complete my bounty hunter collection with the Mist Hunter and Punishing One. So again, rest assured that you're not the only one. We'll both be sitting out for a while.

I know how you feel. I too get worried, particularly since I generally have to plan the purchase of a wave into my forecasted income and outcome...difficult to do when you have no fixed release date.

Thankfully I do a lot of business with my FLGS and help them in some areas (running RPG games, commentating, and making a stream overlay for them), and I am good friends with the owners, generally they always set at least one of everything aside for me, and I still worry I will somehow miss out.
