I'm thinking you can trigger his pilot affect between the two attacks. Could make a difference if a ship is down to its last remaining hull points. Thoughts?
Dengar timing with TLT
You can definitely trigger it between attacks, but the current best guess is that even if it destroys the ship, the second attack would continue, per the ruling about using Vader crew's effect to kill a ship he's riding on between shots of a Cluster Missile.
Yeah. The Vader crew card is a different effect altogether (self inflicted damage vs. going through the steps of an attack). Would probably need to be FAQ'd. If the creators are trying to come up with ways to nerf TLT spam without any errata to the TLT itself, this would be one way of doing that.
The Vader FAQ is a pretty good precedent as it is the only way pre-Wave 8 for a ship to be destroyed between it's own attacks.

One very expensive ship that might be able to kill it between shots is a good way of nerfing TLTs?
The Vader situation is precisely analogous.
Cluster Missiles and TLTs work exactly the same way (one card that says 'make this attack twice') and the fact that the death is self inflicted is not relevant to the discussion. The ship dies between shots of a 'make this attack twice' weapon. The second attack still goes off.
No reason to assume that there would be another way for it to work.
Though I agree it needs FAQing. There's a lot in this wave that could stand some clarification.

It's more than a "best guess". It's backed up the rules. See page 8 under Card Abilities
- When a ship is destroyed, its card abilities are no longer active. The exceptions to this rule are card abilities whose effects have already been triggered and specify a time when the effect ends, such as “until the end of the Combat phase.”
So the TLT is triggered and Dengar gets a counter-attack that destroys the TLT ship, but the second shot does still happen. The Vader (crew) entry in the FAQ backs this up.

I think I agree that both TLTs happen but I think the rule you quoted doesn't apply here. Based on how you've bolded it, I don't think you're reading it correctly.
The card abilities that are the exception need to meet both requirements:
- The effect much have already been triggered.
- The effect specifies a time that the effect ends.
This would include abilities like Swarm Tactics and Torkil Mux's pilot ability.
Edited by WWHSDWell, technically BTL-A4 has been triggered and it does have a specified time (immediately after the primary attack). It's effect ends when the second TLT attack is resolved.
Would that be a reasonable conclusion?
So, do I understand it correctly - Dengar can fire twice against any TLT? And against BLT y-wing with TLT even three times?
Dengar's ability is 'once per round', so he can only fire at an attacker once, no matter how many attacks they have or how many different attackers go for him.
Use it wisely.
