So I played in a tourney this weekend running a heavily loaded Xizor with 3 Y-wings each with an autoblaster turret. The idea was to do something unexpected, but also to create a bubble of protection around Xizor.
I expected the Autoblaster Turrets to do well simply because people so rarely use them. I was thinking that people might try to get in close out of habit, (Because TLT Y-Wings are so common) and I'd take advantage of that.
I went 2W, 2L. Both of my losses were to TLT lists. TLT's can simply play keep-away and stay at range 3 with ease. But every other list I did very well. I went up against a small TIE Swarm with stealth devices and was HAPPY to unload with autoblaster turrets during our joust.
I know a lot of people have cited that the Ghost will be able to use both autoblaster turret AND Accuracy corrector, but there are some other possibilities too. First off, I think pilot skill and maneuverability are huge in this case. Moving first may get you a block and guarantee your action, but so many ships have boost/barrel roll, that you aren't likely to have a Soontir Fel fly right into your range 1.
Some ideas I am thinking of, outside of the ghost:
Kavil with veteran Instincts, Autoblaster Turret, and Engine Upgrade - This would be a fun one.
Miranda Doni with Autoblaster turret and Leebo (or Engine Upgrade and some other crew)
Alternatively a Dash Outrider with Autoblaster Cannon would be similar, but risky.
And add Jan Ors to rebels if trying any of these to add even more uncancellable hits! Fun fun fun!
