The little "victory resume" in your signature looks ridiculous....

By CDR Stele, in X-Wing

To be fair though, regardless if where you're based naming your account after something solely designed to brutally injure/kill is pretty ridiculous...

(take that KaTaNaGuY1994)

Why?

We're wargamers.

I hear that M240 guy has an 8 pack.

I heard he's shredded... (I think someone might actually know me) ;)

Can we get back on topic please? Is it proper then to note in my sig that I almost have more C3p0 cards than wins this Store Championship Season?

what a troll, can this useless ******* thread be locked please,

WHERE THE **** ARE THE FFG FORUM MODS!?!?!

Are you still talking about the stupid highway thing? give it a rest, his username is about a machine gun.

Considering his profile is from the good old USA, I would gather this is the M240 Machine Gun...

So, a US citizen names their profile after a gun; yet thinks listing a tournament record in signature is ridiculous.

The irony.

Could someone explain this irony to me? :<
The irony is USA attitude toward guns.
Well I had a job for several years where I carried one. *shrug*

Well so you perfectly are justified :D

I was just answering to the other guy :)

My username is based off of a name i chose for my space marine force commander back in 3rd ed.

A space marine is a weapon, designed for one purpose.

We are wargamers, weapons are appropriate to us.

Uh-oh. This guy seems really unhappy. Now I am teh sad :(

New forum user wonders where mods are?

Haha, I remember when I was like that.

Buddy. This here is forum land. Wargaming forum land. It's not the land of milk and honey, this is WAR!!!!!gamingsubforumbehavioratit'sfinest.

K bra, i'm so shaken up by the thread I cant sleep at night with out meds.

All I want is to browse these useless ******* forums and trawl through **** to find those minuscule threads that are actually worth reading with some substance, and helpful insight.

You are distracting the good posters of this forum with your trash. Leave them be so they can write something good.

Hate to break it to you Darius, but Space Marines are fictional. They don't exist, and they haven't killed anyone.

...Tyranids, on the other hand

This game needs the TIE Avenger, Kimogila and Assault Gunboat.

Is a weapon being fictional relevant though?

Say M240guy is in a forum argument with DH17guy...

Then godwynpatternbolterguy joins the fray.

Along with glock17guy and tazerguy.

I mean the last guy is in theory nonlethal.

I practice medieval swordcraft. I have two live blades. I name them tact and subtlety. They are designed with one purpose. But... as the jedi say, knowledge and defense, never attack.

They are beautiful works of art, and yet they are weapons.

That's how I look at it.

The M240 heavy machinegun is no difference. Yes, it's a tool made for one purpose. But the etymology of the word "sword" is wounding tool.

The mechanics of the modern firearm are actually quite interesting.

This last weekend was my crusade weekend.

I bought space marine cheap for the PC and beat it on hard in a marathon session, blade retribution with the wife and played the battlefleet gothic beta. The imperium ships are better.

I went full loyalist /sicktostomach.

Then Lightsaberguy needs to make an appearance and help settle the differences.. cause Lightsaberguy is one of those guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy... before the dark times...

*sigh*

Should I mention that the actual purpose of the M249 is to nobly defend freedom and the American way of life? Or that the original model was designed by Belgians, who unlike Americans are allowed to do normal things without being hated? Or that your chosen hobby involves fantasizing about violence (since it's a space combat game where your objective is to kill your opponent's ships and set in a universe called Star Wars which is extremely violent?)

Thanks for letting me know that all your opinions are worthless, though. Helps on the signal:noise thing.

Bit harsh. We are all allowed different opinions, and most of Gecko's posts are relevant, and accurate.

And we shall call this formation....

Ok going to completely derail this thread now...

Has anyone see that new cartoon about bears? My son watches it and it's funny from time to time. But one time the girl is doing a presentation about bears, I guess she's some sort of gifted kid and is in college or high school several years early.

Anyway, the bears don't like her presentation so they make their own. In it not only do bears have massive abs, they have abs in places other creatures don't have abs, in fact they have abs on their abs with more abs being discovered every day.

Was funny. :) Which is quite frankly more than I can say about the point of this thread.

Oh and to further derail things... I picked up the Killteam:Overkill box this weekend after the Armada store championship. From what I've seen so far looks like it could be fun and a nice core set to start off for playing the fanbased killteam game.
