St. Paddy v. Wave 8

By patox, in X-Wing

Totally torn on what to do this Thursday.

Thursday is actually x wing night at my main game store. I'm debating just using uber to transport myself

Totally torn on what to do this Thursday.

Have a few pints then play X-wing. I do this relatively often already.

That said we're having a release party at my store complete with pizza, Robot Chicken, and MC Chris...

One could only hope for such a blessing!

Paint your ships green before playing.

ONE drink or Two drinks = One x-wing ship.. its a no brainer for me..

Now now fellas...

Let's not get too hasty here. Some of us probably won't get to have a big fun time thing for wave 8 since we support small local businesses. Lion Rampant has this raging morning wood for large chains, but the little two man op's make their proverbial shaft soft. It makes phone conversations really weird.

So, enjoy celebrating a minor Saint whose only claim to fame was persecution of the local existing religion. At least they have the decency to encourage you getting plit shastered, which hey, Christian or not, that's cool with me. Actually St. Paddy's is probably the only holiday on the calendar I can get behind and it's because of the green beer. Halloween is great too but I find that it's a little tame from when I remember it. I mean, we used to have real witches man, and nudity. The Goatman would show up and it would be a real blast. Nowadays it's like hell, you put LSD in one candy apple and it's the end of the world. Yeah the end of some lucky kids mental slavery! Yeesh! What happened to society right?

Wave 8? What the hell? That won't show up in small stores until all those cheese eaters at the big stores have had their fill.

In theory green dice should be lucky that day.

Luckily I don't have to choose. Thursday night is our local groups X Wing night, but our FLGS is a licensed boardgames cafe so I can play X Wing and drink beer at the same time.

Went to the local Irish pub for my Guinness at the strike of midnight, St. Paddy's Day, so now I can focus on pure Wave 8 goodness tonight.

My game store sells beer, so that's an easy one.

Though I also have enough Irish friends who hate the American version of St. Patrick's Day that I tend to treat it as a regular day with good sales on corned beef at the grocery store.
