I've noticed that foil versions of the Siege Clan War thunders have popped up here and there on ebay. Were these given away as Top of Clan prizes in the fall season?

Yep. Top of clan got their foil thunder (Fu Leng in the Case of Spider), a foil Yokuni, and a foil Hooded Ronin.

If I remember correctly, the foil Stronghold and Clan "theme champions" were for Top of Clan. The Thunders and Yoritomo were for top Eight.
