Okay so nerdsanity aside....I can attest the details are off the wall with this one here...it's a fantastic sculpt. My only gripe is the "tail" coulda been slightly longer....BUT that isn't enough to make this anything short of "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I HAZ A VENATOR!"

Scale size it's bigger than the Victory, but a 3rd shorting than the ISD. Makes sense, as the Victory and Venator combined their roles and you got the Imperator (Imperial).

I soooooooooo can't wait to paint it!

At the moment, about 1/3rd of my collection are custom ships, and by the end of next month it should be up to 1/2, even if I add a couple ISDs. The fact of the matter is, it will not stop me from buying any of the official expansions even if they contain ships I already have as customs. Either way, I get new ships to paint. My biggest worry is that the guess at scale on the custom ships turns out to be way off the FFG version. Won't stop me from getting them though. I have an entire 5'x 3'x 1" display case to fill with nothing but Armada. Bring on the ships!

I think most people use Mel's Miniatures on Shapeways. Tons of custom X-Wing and Armada ships you can buy. It's probably not technically legal, but neither FFG nor Disney seem to care (unlike Space Rocks, which they shut down).

I think the next ship I buy will be the Assault Frigate Mk 1 (after wave 3 ofcourse) and maybe a few other Armada squadrons...I want that "pre-new hope" Imperial era vibe.

I got an e-mail saying my ammo of mig paints are here tomorrow! Meaning the Venator gets the basecoat tomorrow night!

Is your interest in all these ships just that of a collector for your display case, or do you also play games with your custom ships?
