Weird situation

By ovinomanc3r, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Yesterday, I played advanced gunnery. It ends with all the enemy ship destroyed and me keeping just a raider: 481 to me, 466 to my friend. No problem but we thought about it.

If my friend would choose the cr90 as his objective ship, I would score 444 while he would score 466 (my objective ship was my ISD) but as long as:

"One Player Defeated: At the end of the current game round, all of one player’s ships are destroyed. The player with at least one ship remaining earns a win and the opposing player receives a loss. The players determine their scores."

I win, he looses but:

"Since margin of victory is used as a tiebreaker, each player’s cumulative margin of victory must be tracked during the tournament. The winner adds the match’s margin of victory to his or her cumulative margin of victory; the loser’s cumulative margin of victory does not change."

What happens? Do I earn -22 points? The only thing we could figured out is the the looser doesn't change his margin of victory (as the rule says) and the winner get 0 (just a thought cause we didn't find anything to defend it).

Its a "Win" for your Opponent... But it is a 5-5 with a MoV of 0.

Tournament points are awarded first of all, and tracked for overall progress - not Win/Loss. Win/Loss is used as... 3rd Tiebreaker, I think...?

Of course with a 5-5 the win means not much but the tournament rules say that I win automatically cause I have a ship remaining. The problem (for me) is the cumulative margin of victory cause as a looser my friend would not get points but it has an advantage of 22 points.

I am not sure but, the winner-looser question is fine cause I killed everything and saved my ship. 5-5? It's fine too cause it is a really narrow victory but the question of margins... I don't know...

I have an store champ tomorrow. I will ask it there.

I'm confused back and forth...

But as straight up as possible:

You can't have a Negative MOV.

So if it would be Negative. Its 0.

This could happen with a few of the cards like superior postions so saw the rebels earned 75 points while the imps earned none. Yet the imperial lose all but one raider and all the rebel ships are removed. So the imperial earn 400, while the rebel gets everythimg but the last raider so so 356 plus the 75 points from the card so 431 to 400. But the imperial still get the win as a 5-5 with a mov of zero

In that example actually the MoV is 31 points so you still get the "win" but your tournament points are scored 4-6. I could be wrong but I can't find anywhere it says that "win" "loss" has anything to do with tournament points.

Edit: well weird, it does have a "win" column and a "loss" column. Mayhaps it's in the FAQ or are we just supposed to make up rules for it?

The minute the other person is tabled (at the end of that round) you get the win. if negative MOV then it is 0 for scoring purposes and you both get 5-5 with 0 MOV. But you get to say you get a win...which in this game unless playing everyone else during the tournament means nothing.

Don't forget for tabling him...you get a full 400 points plus objective points for the win regardless of his fleet total.
