There are a couple trending topics about the future of Star Wars movies and the inevitable fate of the Star Wars Rebels crew.

Looking at how Disney handles their licensed properties, i.e. Marvel and Princesses, they have historically added more character, rather than remove them. Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Agents of SHIELD, and coming soon, the New Defenders. With princesses, there's an endless stream of movies with crossovers on the TV shows.

It's smart business. It's more stuff to sell. More stories to tell. More variety to draw in more fans.

Disney is trying to expand the Star Wars storylines past the Skywalker family and to the rest of the galaxy, not reduce them.

Granted, Disney kills characters from time-to-time, but to wipe out all the Jedi in Phoenix Cell counters what they've done with other properties.

Then again, this could be just wishful thinking, because I really don't want to see the beloved Rebels characters wiped out and explain that to younglings.

How was Lion King and Bambi...

It is still far too early for us to know the endgame for Rebels. And for the most part, LFL is still fairly independent. So, what Marvel and Disney does, may not apply to Star Wars,

Not sure how independent LucasFilm is.

And there's also a very good reason why the Disney logo shows up on all the new Star Wars merchandise, but not on Marvel.

If Ezra and/or Kanan survive the events of the original trilogy, it is inevitable that they meet Luke, and join luke's Academy. When the knights of ren attack, I can see them sacrificing themselves to let Ezra's daughter escape... only for her to be abandoned on Jakku.

I love the way Rebels is shaping up to be, but I would also like to see some live-action Star Wars series in the future. Firefly got my space-vibes up massively way back when, a series following the incredibly short-lived careers of Imperial Pilots would be amazing, and they'd lose characters faster than GRRM would be able to write them!
