Noob Questions

By Grapeshot, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi. I'm new to the game and hope to find some answers here to my noob questions:

1) Mission F1 Ambush. Is there any effect if ships flies over or overlap a mine token (besides denotation by the Resistance player)?

2) If a mine is detonated, can ships caught in the blast roll their defense dice?

3) On turn 1, my ship stops on the first half of an asteroid. It suffers a Red dice, skips its "Perform Action" step and cannot attack. On turn 2, the ship moves straight crossing the second half of the asteroid token. Will he still suffer the penalty of a Red dice and skips its "Perform Action" step?

4) If the base of my ship touches the edge of the asteroid token (but not over it), is this still considered as overlapping and thus suffering the usual penalties?

5) Mission F2 Raid. My Tie Fighter stops at Range 1 of two satellites. Does it receive 2 Stress tokens at the start of combat phase?

Thanks.

Well, I don't know about missions, but 2, 3 and 4 I can answer:

2: No. That's the beauty of mines. Unless the Bomb/Mine card explicitly instructs you to, you don't get to roll for defense.

3: As long as your movement template goes over the obstacle, you suffer the penalty. The position you described is a real bummer.

4: Technically, there is no such thing. Either there is space between your base and the asteroid or there isn't.

No. Mines are not obstacles. There is no effect for flying over or onto them (unless they're the sort that blow up when that happens, which these aren't), and the defender doesn't get extra dice when you shoot across them.

Wow somebody actually plays those missions :D :D

4. debiler actually described it pretty well but common technique is that if you can put whole base without MOVING the obstacle (i mean in fractions of milimeters situation of course) it squeezes in. If putting the ship would move even make the obstacle budge - its a no go.

3) On turn 1, my ship stops on the first half of an asteroid. It suffers a Red dice, skips its "Perform Action" step and cannot attack. ยง If a ship is overlapping an obstacle at the start of its maneuver, it ignores that obstacle unless its maneuver template or final position overlaps that obstacle again.

There are missions?

There are missions?

Yes -

Mission 1: Destroy your opponents' lists.

If this fails, complete the contingency mission,

Mission 2: Slow-roll-troll for MOV

2. No Defense dice. Those are only for attacks or if specifically called for which I can't think off right now.

3. When you start on an obstacle the area beneath the ship's base basically doesn't count unless you get bumped all the way back there. If your template hits the rock again then you hit the rock again.

4. It clears it or it doesn't. That "base flat on the board without budging the obstacle" is a good test.
