What kind of knowledge based items can players look for? what would these include in the starwars lore? Holocrons are the only thing i know, but those are specific to jedi/sith.

I'm not all familiar with this, and was recently thinking whether my character might seek these kind of items out for inspiration in his work.

For what purpose? Like archeological findings?

If so, you can have ancient computers that are designed to last millennia, or just old fashioned engravings on a ruin wall.

Schematics: ship, droid, weapons to name a few. Maps, information on sectors/worlds. Where would one look for these??

game wise... things that would aid in knowledge or such. where would i go to research, what items would be the equivilant of a book or instruction manual... this is a "i have no idea how the lore works" question.

There are military field manuals in the AoR CRB that give a throw down Boost die to specific tasks per book.

Libraries are good place to start. Especially the restricted sections.
Also, personal contacts might provide rare gear for upgrades that might otherwise not be available.

Technicians would use Starship service manuals and such, or technical update files, etc to provide temporary or perhaps permanent bonuses in certain situations.

Pilots would want the latest Astrogatoin charts and calculations. Maybe fine tuning details on Hyperdrives and such.

Politicians and Traders would use Holonet news and date brokerage services to the latest political and market news for temporary bonuses. Insider contacts for more sensitive data.

Hired Guns might read Merc of Fortume magazine or weapon technical data, even military engagement reports.

Don't forget the non-tangible bits of knowledge. Hearing an oral account of history from a long-lived species might be enough for a Boost die as surely as a rare book would.

Throwing some credits at an information broker could provide future boost dice as well.

Also I'm sure there are big or even famous libraries or universities on some planets, also if I recall correctly there are some talents that help with instititues of learning. (Explorer Archeologist for example)
