The only place I can think of to use it is Kavil with either mindlink or manaroo to get him focuses, then just ignore stress. But you better hope you don't lose whoever's giving him focus tokens...
It's decent on the JumpMaster when focus is important.
I myself was planning on running a JumpMaster with Lone Wolf and Recon Spec. Now I either have a source for a third focus token should I need it, or a viable alternative to recon spec that saves me 2 points and only needs to be used on turns when I'm taking fire.
I'm not saying it doesn't have its uses, but it's not the astromech of my dreams.

Knowing whether or not your want to stick a stress on 4-L0M during the combat phase is pretty interesting.
The downside is that if you want the focus token to be relevant for 4-L0M during combat, you need to put both Attani Mindlink AND this astromech on a high PS JumpMaster. It's trixie, but I'm not sure Dengar is super stoked about it.

99% sure it's to get you to buy most wanted for the good version of the card
There are circumstances to justify this, but R4 is worth the extra point.
You can use this with Bodyguard, but dunno if it's worth the stress to keep the focus for offense/defense...

They are both R4, it's time to be a little more specific. Agromech or overclocked.
Anyway, back on topic. I think it's a niche card for now but could be a sleeper for later. If they ever get a Tycho type ability, this could become very powerful for 1 point.
Maybe Drea with blaster turret and Manaroo with K4 to toss her a focus and target lock each turn?

At least, the way I'm reading it seems like every time you get shot at and spend a Focus defensively you can stress out for a replacement. Or would it not work multiple times in a round? Frankly this was the final cog for the torpedo boats, because now even if they get shot at first they can still trigger their Deadeye Torps AND modify the dice beyond just the Chimps.

overclocked is basically infi-stim if you have a focus going into combat
it works as many times as you wish, except it also stresses you that many times
given the JM5k dial
you lose out on A LOT when stressed, especially the left 2-seggys which you can no longer turn into and focus for deadeye due to stress
not to mention the utter lack of green banks or turns to the right
it is distinctly inferior for only a point decrease, giving you only a defensive advantage for a turn in exchange for gutting maneuverability and/or offense the next
the poor Ys shudder to even think of the thing, what with their 2 green manuevers

OC with an feedback and APL for 32 which is the same price as the Bumpmaster and loses out on intimidation and int agent
the loss of int agent may be a killer, though, so I'd personally go 31 and remove APL. Slap on a crackshot if you got it cause why not, or save it for a sexy scum crew

Edited by ficklegreendiceI agree that the R4 Agromech is superior, most especially with Deadeye at hand, but Overclocked provides a defencive bonus that R4 cannot. The cost to use it sucks pretty bad, but you also get to choose when to use it. It's definitely going to punish your opponent for splitting fire, that's for sure, and the one ship being focussed down can put up a better resistance than usual.
I personally like what it opens up in the Triple Jumpmaster build, since that bonus Focus doesn't work as well with Protons the way the R4 TL does. As a trade for expected damage consistency and crits from the Torps, I can still get similar results from Plasmas and have room for Crew. Greedo alongside those Plasmas certainly makes them hit like Protons.

Attani Mindlink + this + a ship somewhere that can handle shrugging stress and gaining focus every round, and you're away laughing.
Now I'm even more annoyed that the StarViper didn't come out looking more like a 3-attack TAP; it would've made Guri (or Xizor, to ablate the obvious 'kill him first' target priority!) + infini-focus stress-craft an absolute terror. As it is, it's... decent. But it's either a hail-mary defensive card/reusable glitterstim, or it's in the wrong slot. Would've been a
phenomenal
crew ability (hello, 4LOM, Mouldy Crows, and/or Palob!), though. Probably why it's a 'mech.
