If one was going to commit Force Dice to Suppress or Enhance etc. are these Incidentals (as long as they are on your turn) or are they maneuvers/actions. I see that is says that further up the Suppress Tree there is an ability to use it as an out of turn incidental (does this mean that you use it without the committing of dice?
Committing Force Dice
If its a part of the tree that says "Commit X Force Die to get some benefit" then its an action to perform that commit, and an incidental at the end of your next turn or after to un-commit.
eg: the 2 Ongoing Effect control upgrades for Agility and Brawn at the bottoms of the left and middle columns of the Enhance tree.
eg 2: the first control upgrade in the right hand column of the Seek tree requires an action to commit a single Force Dice to upgrade all Vigilance and Perception checks by 1.
If the particular description of that part of the force power says "After making (insert force power name here) check may commit X Force Die to maintain efect" then its an incidental only after the Force Power has been performed.
eg. The very bottom of the left hand column of the Seek tree, After activating the power you may maintain the effects of the force power you just activated to track the target even when they move. this would be an incidental.

How long can it stay committed? one turn? hours? days?
The way I look at it is so:
Any use of a Force power, whether it requires a commit or not, requires an action if it is creating a new effect or changing the way things currently work. If it is modifying a current effect that already exists, it is an incidental.
Some examples:
Battle Meditation - the basic power creates a new effect of, "the people targeted get a Success on their checks until your next turn." This is an action. The Duration upgrade alters that effect to say, "This lasts indefinitely." It is an incidental.
Enhance - The two commit upgrades create a new effect of, "Your [brawn/Agility] increases." So activating it is an action.
I have to go so in gonna have to cut this short, but when I come back, maybe I'll be an obsessive completionist like always ands do ALL THE POWERS.

P. 282 under the box "Committing Force Die Over Multiple Encounters."
For anything beyond the current encounter i go with a point of strain per committed die that cant be recovered until the die is uncommitted, and it keeps building each encounter.
of course some of the talents that allow a dice to be committed have a strain per round cost that overrides that.
