Does Vader crew work like wampa? Crit under shields?

Or does vadering end up only taking a shield off the target?

Vader crew says the ship suffers 1 critical damage, which does hit shields first if there are any present. Compare to Proton Bombs, which says it deals a face-up damage card.

No, vader deals damage, wampa deals a card.

It should also be noted that Wampa does not deal a crit. Just a face-down damage card.
