I'm excited about the upcoming expansion, Omens of Ice. I also own Trail of Ithaqua, the expansion to the mobile "Elder Sign Omens" app. Based on the previews of Omens of Ice, I'm expecting these two to have a great deal of overlap.

In fact, I'm expecting them to be functionally identical. Which is disappointing, really. Can anyone confirm or refute this? Specifically, the difficulty in Trail of Ithaqua is intentionally insane; is this the same for Omens of Ice?

I could see how the mobile app offers a nice venue to get ideas before a real audience before sinking the (presumably heavier) cost into spinning up a physical tabletop game. I wonder if that has been the actual strategy here, and if so, if it will be a practice that might be repeated in the future. I'd love to see more expansions! Can anyone comment on that?
