Kind of an old-school list with some new toys; just a thought experiment for how I'd fly T-65s if I wanted to do a squad of them.
High PS is king these days, and stress is a viable way to make a ship manoeuvrable (by taking the good bits of your opponent's dial away from him)
- Wedge Antilles - Veteran Instincts, Flechette Torpedoes, BB-8, Integrated Astromech
- Wes Janson - Decoy, Flechette Torpedoes, R7-T1, Integrated Astromech
- 'Hobbie' Klivian - Flechette Torpedoes, R3-A2, Integrated Astromech
The idea is pretty obvious; a volley of flechettes to stress out one or two key targets and bring them down to my level - plus slightly improve my opening volley if it's at range 3. Depending on my needs, Wes either steals Wedge's PS11 to shoot first (and strip off tokens) or passes his PS8 to Hobbie.
The changes I could see doing: swapping Wes' decoy out for Veteran Instincts because PS10 is awesome. If I did that, I'd be tempted to take Adaptability for Wedge instead so they can trade firing order, but that does leave me with no-one to take on Vader.
The other possible choices are changing astromechs on Wes and Hobbie.
R7-T1 gives Wes boost and a bit of action economy... the question is how good it is in practice because of the range limitation. I don't know what I'd replace it with, though.
R3-A2 is a simple choice. Unlike a BTL-A4 Y-wing, Hobbie can only fling one stress downrange (although the flechettes help), but he can burn off the stress on his own craft a **** sight easier - firstly he has green banks but more importantly if he can target lock someone and use the lock on the shot, R3-A2's stress goes immediately. That means he can keep his nose pointed at someone far more easily than a normal stressbot, because Koiogran turns are still an option, and he might actually seriously hurt someone as well as just stressing them. The other 'free swap' option is the targeting astromech. Mechanically simpler but arguably less effective, it essentially makes K-turns white by getting him a target lock. With flechette torps a-go-go, I can still stress an ace quite well, but I lose sustained stress. More importantly, I lose someone who can put stress on a higher hull target, like Dash Rendar.
Thoughts? Comments? Insults? (if relevant to the squad so much the better, but, you know, whatever...)
