Don't know if anyone buys into this, but if it is in any way accurate it does show how popular FFG's game is.
We're Number 3!
I'm sure it's accurate. When I look at meetup locally D&D is clearly king.
Although I did find a hard core group that does WHFRP3E, which surprised me.
I wonder if they mean all three ranges rolled into one Star Wars umbrella? Just Edge? I'd love to see the breakdown of what was selling and how.

Of course all three as one. They are a single roleplay system. Its already silly enough to have the forums not beeing subforums from the main Star Wars Roleplay forum.
Here too, 3% of games (1310), 12% of players (4773).

Interesting that they lumped FFG, SAGA, and WEG together.
I still get the feeling that we're a distant fifth place in the FFG SW line behind Imperial Assault, X-Wing, Armada, and the card game....
The top two are no surprise, but it's interesting to see older games like 3.5 and White Wolf games still getting a lot of play years after their prime.
I'd like to think that "getting a lot of play years after their prime" is a fantastic accomplishment for a game...or a player.

Roll20 doesn't differentiate them. Which is a bit annoying actually.

That chart doesn't really mean a whole lot given the lack of numbers. So, how far back is 3rd place from 2nd or 1st? 1 order of magnitude, 10 orders?

What happened to FATE?...
What's amazing me is that D&D 5e is more popular than Pathfinder. I figured that Pathfinder people would be a lot more entrenched.

For what it's worth, both of my upcoming campaigns were originally going to be WEG. Simple stat/dice mechanics for those who've never played RPGs before, coupled with a wealth of information. As I began planning, I saw that there's still a sizeable and strong player base out there. After starting to play in a campaign using FFG, I considered switching (since we haven't started playing yet). The play experience, coupled with Oggy's excellent character generator convinced me to switch.
Still love me some WEG, though.

That doesn't surprise me. Lots of new people coming in get introduced to what's new. D&D has been the giant in the playground for decades.

What happened to FATE?...
Other than on RPGnet, I'm not convinced FATE is really all that popular.

Have they even released new books through "normal" channels?
I include the different Fate settings and Books that use either versjon of FATE as core mechanically too. I liked Atomic Robo, that was fun..

The roleplaygames have somthing like 5 times the releases in comparison to Armada.

What, you two don't feel like you're just getting to your prime?

Fate doesn't really benefit much from Roll20's various functions, so their data probably wouldn't reflect a larger truth.

Dunno about that, but I can say I saw 'Star Wars' in the cinema when I was seven!
And yeah, it was 'Star Wars' then.
I doubt I would have clamoured to see a film called 'A New Hope'. I mean, ugh... that sounds like some kind of mid-90's romcom starring Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck, something I wouldn't watch even at gunpoint

Right there with ya, only a few months behind. Still don't feel past my prime, more like a piece of vintage gear that needs a little extra maintenance.

That might be true.. However, I think I remember searching for actual plays on youtube a while back and I was surprised how many actual play videoes seemed to be Fate, Dungeonworld or Marvel Heroic games being played on Google Hangout.
That was some time ago, before I knew about FFG Star Wars, maybe it wasn`t even out. Maybe I remember it wrong and those were just the games I ended up watching.. But I remember thinking that these games must be more popular than I knew.
