For those counting, between the release of Wave 8 and the announcement of Wave 9, that was 77 days.

The announcement said "late Q3". Considering that FFG had finished copies in hand at the UK Games Expo today, I have no reason to doubt that they'll be able to get it on store shelves during the next three months.

Yeah. Without the printed and packed blisters, I would have guessed Q4 2016 optimistically and Q1 2017 realistically. If they're already on the boat, all bets are off--I wouldn't rule out a GenCon preview release with broad release in September.

Cross-posted... there are pictures floating around somewhere. They weren't on sale, I don't think, but they weren't prototypes either--packed, final blisters.
This doesn't surprise me. After the epic release delay of Wave 8, and then no immediate news of Wave 9, I suspected they were waiting until they could be more confident in their release window to announce wave 9. It's also what happened with wave 4. After an ungodly wait for an announcement, they hit the shelves in only 4 months.
Also not sure how anyone can say this "doesn't look Imperial" and keep a straight face
