Build input request

By Ronu, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So as I mentioned in another post, I'm newer and looking for feedback on build designs and I looked into a build and was wait this could work if flown properly, well maybe. Feedback is appreciated and always will be.

Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35

Push the Limit 3

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Engine Upgrade 4

Ship Total: 49

"Omega Leader" — TIE/fo Fighter 21

Juke 2

Comm Relay 3

Stealth Device 3

Ship Total: 29

"Epsilon Leader" — TIE/fo Fighter 19

Comm Relay 3

Ship Total: 22

One thing I ran was this (I'm going off of memory here but I think I've got it):

Tie Defender - Rexler Brath

Heavy Laser Cannon

Predator

Hull upgrade

Zeta Leader

Wired

Omega Leader

Comm Relay

Juke

Hull Upgrade

100/100 points.

It worked alright - I might have done Stealth Device over Hull Upgrade though. I really like the interaction between HLC and Relxer's ability - just make sure you have a focus token!

Are you sure you wanna use Push the Limit on a Tie Defender with an unmodified dial?

I might re-think that one, if it were me.

I'm also not 100% sure what Epsilon Leader is doing here, other than being an overcosted, hard to kill Tie Fighter, who doesn't really have enough tools to make PS12 worth the 10 extra points he's paying over an Academy Tie.

For nearly the same point cost, I might go for Zeta Leader with Predator. Three dice and accurate attacks. Fun, if you wanna fly a Tie FO.

Epsilon ace has the ps 12.

Epsilon Leader takes stress tokens away from ships at range one

Ah, well, that explains the PtL on Vessery. My mistake.

Still not sure it's a plan that I would rely upon, given how easy it is to have a dead Epsilon Leader or a Vessery who strayed out of R1.

You have the stuff for Vader?

This is a decent list, I think:

Darth Vader (29)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
TIE/x1 (0)
Colonel Vessery (35)
Lone Wolf (2)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
"Omega Leader" (21)
Juke (2)
Comm Relay (3)
Total: 99
Now you've got two buddies for Vessery who want to take Target Locks, but not necessarily spend them. If those buddies should happen to die or fall out of range or something, Vessery's Lone Wolf upgrade should activate to increase his accuracy and help his survivability.
I wouldn't fly this until the Defender title came out, but that's not to say that you can't make it work if you've got the skillz.
