It looks like they are talking about the panel for Organized Play specifically, which is today at 5:00 pm. It won't be an announcement of new ships, but it could be interesting. Regardless, the big show is still tomorrow at 11:00 am.

Unless they introduce some sort of mission based tournaments or story driven organized events, I really don't care about Organized Play. It's just like the latest thing about all these events around the world.....it has nothing to do with me or how I play X-wing.

He meant that tweet was specifically about the OP panel, which it likely was since it was tweeted by FFGOP and specifically said it was OP announcements. There hasn't been a similar tweet from the regular FFG account giving any kind of hint as to what today's panel will be about, other than it's Asmodee doing "FFG and Star Wars."

They'll probably do both. Keep in mind that the span from "Wave 8 announced" to "Wave 8 is in stores" has been around, what, 6-9 months? I don't even remember how long it took between the announcement of the Raider and its release. They could easily announce a new wave today and it still likely won't show up until September.

At the Wave 8 announcement last year, someone posted a Periscope link here. Hopefully that happens again.

Imperials are shy a large ship. They have the Monochromatic Void Manatee, the Decimator and the Firespray... which has pretty much emigrated off into Hutt territory.

So they could probably do with one more, and Kylo Ren's Upsilon-class Shuttle is an obvious contender, even if it looks pretty big for standard play.

Regular large base isn't a problem, just wings that expand to 3 feet might get in the way on occasion.

This isn't the biggest event I wouldn't expect any great ship announcements, but an Epic ship for Scum could make sense here.

That's Kylo Ren's pilot ability. We know how he treats things that get in the way.

Kind of hoping for 1 Rebel, 1 Imperial, 1 Resistance, 1 First Order, and 2 Scum ships. Kind of a tall order but I keep having to remember that the TIE/fo and T-70 were technically part of Wave VIII.
