I plan on bringing this list to a Tournament March 19th because i have reason to believe wave 8 is hitting the shelves March 17th.

Yeah. And to add to that, I would suggest Sensor Jammer on Kagi instead of deflectors. Electronic Baffle is also an interesting idea.

I will say that tactical jammer makes very little sense. The shuttle is not likely to be between enemy and your ships...

I can see how inquisitor is tempting though---new ship and proton rockets are spicy. The biggest problem though is all PS8, so PS9+ might be problematic (I think carnor is your best bet to help against those threats)

from my experience with the shuttle is one eyeball against a TLT is usually a moot point as they usually take a focus, and thats really where SJ is appealing, but im sure i'll try it both ways.. if rolls are anything like in my victory with my last palp aces one eyeball will do little to help survive TLTs.

against aces and bigger ships i think that Reinforced will do more than its share of work.

and yeah tactical jammers were there just as a "im PS8 i dont think me having init will be the biggest of issues as everyone bids for <9 or >6 (VI poe vs brobots) so 8 is a magical number with little overriding other than other imp 8ces (huehueh)

actually i see what you mean with SJ and carnor. but still, i can only be within R1 of so many TLT's if they're flown well. so it may protect me from 1-2 shots... I'll just have to run it both ways.

But y-wings can only get 1 focus token. Sensor Jammer affects BOTH shots. So even without Carnor, its stopping damage. You'd be surprised how often it helps ;)

Also, they are less likely to target lock (for double mods later) and sometimes they'll spend their focus defensively (not often, but it happens!). So Sensor Jammer sometimes does more than it appears...

Took your Advice Blade...

played two games on vassal today.

1 vs triple Imp aces
Vader OL and Soontir

unfortunately SJ didnt help much this game, however the choice of Jax > Inquisitor helped me keep his OL from using his stocked Comms relay evade. so on the same turn that Kagi died OL died due to simultaneous fire rule.following turn i managed to get a block on Soontir with Jax because he had to choose between not shooting and getting blocked due to asteroid position. OL managed a ranged 1 Hit Crit and he blanked out. then we danced around rocks for a bit until i managed to kill his Vader.

Second game was VS "Maximum Danger Zone"

he lined his two wardens on one side, and i lined up to joust. he thought i was going to be more aggressive with my movements, so he Slammed to block but i did very conservative moves and had range 2 with Kagi and jax 3 with OL. I shoot him with a tractor and boost him in to range 1 and roll four eyeballs with Jax which i use my focus on and he rolls no Evades. so he's left with no shields, OL rolls Hit blank, and because theres no other shots i palp to a crit hit. crit is a DH. following turn OL breaks formation and finishes that warden. while jax and Kagi vaguely chase Miranda. i slowly started plinking away the health of miranda with Jax while OL treis to get back in the fight and Kagi is close, but not near arc, so he eats the TL's... I eventually killed Miranda and flew around a bit until my oponent gave up before killing either OL or getting Kagi to 1/2

One thing I've been testing a lot on my Palpshuttles is Electronic Baffle + Engine Upgrade; with it you can pull a 135 degree loop with a Hard 2 and boost, keeping it in the fight and REALLY making it hard for aces to keep a tail on - or full stop and TL, which is also a fun dirty trick. There's nothing quite like watching Soontir Fel zoom right past you and frantically try to boost+barrel roll out of arc...

I dunno. With Ordnance: The Meta coming soon, I think that Engine Upgrade is gonna become a mandatory item on most large ships, and learning to arc dodge well will separate the Moffs from the boys. Maybe we should have a Mofference on it?

Soontir does kind of counter SJ with his bonus focus, but then again, Jax can counter Soontir. Forcing him to BR/boost away from Jax can be good for you, especially when that's not necessarily Fel's optimal play.

Baffles are going to be good. Seen them used to good effect on Vassal, but same for tractor beam. The only caveat with tractor beam, is that I feel its something that smart play can mitigate. So its effectiveness will partly depend on your opponent's ability to see the danger and avoid putting himself in bad spots where the tractor beam can ruin his day. Even so, the -1 agility is nice regardless.
