1 A-Wing Squadron ( 11 points)

Fleet created with Armada Warlords

Most Wanted or Opening Salvo for the red mission I think... Should I drop things like Intel Officer for Admonition and/or drop a few YT-2400's for more upgrades on the Frigates? Kind of feel like I'm already selling out and effectively bringing almost no fighter screen, and I DO miss the Assault Cruiser, but... Anything major I am missing? Mostly going with what I have and is painted up for my own color scheme...

If you take 3 A-Wings and 1 YT-2400 you keep the squadrons within the command ability of the Assault Frigate and save 10 points.

Then drop the Intel Officer or one Turbolaser upgrade to add Foresight and Admonition to the Shrimps for survivability.

I would drop Intel officer and only run 3 Awings. No 2400s. This frees up a few more points to throw in a more upgrades on the 30s. The awings job is to pretty much lock up a bomber wing for a couple turns. Your not going to win the squadron fight but it will buy you capital ships some time to do their job. Intel officer is a really good card, but it's one of those cards where the more you have the better it is. Having just one in a list I feel is okay, but the points could be used elsewhere. Try and fit ordinance teams onto those mc-30s as well even if it means dropping XI-7s. If you run up and have a bad roll or two on your close range attack, then XI7 isn't going to mean very much. Foresight is also really good.

Only have the one Rebel fighter pack, so limited to 2 A-Wings... Will likely go 2 A-wings, probably a YT-2400 and Ord Experts on Admonition. Had good luck playing Foresight with Mon Mothma, but not so much on Ackbar really...

Looking like the Intel Officer is also gone as you say, great in groups... I tend to run a LOT heavier with the Assault Cruiser and Assault Frigates where the original AF is pretty much my "standard build"... With only the one, not as good probably... But I DO like being able to take away Brace... And as I look at the second MC-30, I am realizing I could really make it an Assault Frigate for ~ the same point cost... 'course, not going to a Regional and already have the range rulers, so the 1-2 punch of MC-30's crashing into and hopefully destroying ISDs is likely where I'll stay... And the whole red/grey fleet hitting the table is amusing to me at least...

With such a small number of fighters (3, 2 x A-Wing and 1 x YT-2400), would I be better off using another YT-2400 or putting Redundant Shields on the MC-30's? Got in another test game and found that the ECM I normally use was simply not needed...
