Knights of the Old Republic

By TheEldarGuy, in Imperial Assault Campaign

This is campaign gold.

Who doesn't want to play Carth, Bastilla or Canderous.

After all, we already have a HK figure...

The campaign suite is perfect for the KotoR crew.

Make it happen! Write it up and ask the community to playtest.

Statement: I have no more information for you, Master. Shall we continue liquidating undesirables?

I didn't realize how much I wanted a Canderous Ordo figure until you said it.

Now I can't sleep until one exists.

I now feel inspired to start home-brewing these characters (I think I'm a tad too much of a fanboy to do Revan properly though).

Bastila is up.

I have a Canderous Ordo figure from Star Wars Miniature game..

So I have had a chance to put some thoughts down on paper.

The first idea was 'How powerful is Bastila?' The idea that this is set 1000 years BBY, sure tech will be 'less' but the Force users will probably be stronger. What I figured was that while the weapons vs armour is a zero sum game, if she was Skirmish, Bastila would be 22 to 25 points. She is after all a real Jedi Knight, not a Jedi or Force User, but a real trained bona fide Jedi Knight.

Then there's the question about her companions: Carth is easy, he an inspiring leader, a master of small unit tactics and a real idea of 'what is good'; the difficult concept was the third part of the group.

We all know who I mean here, so I thought of the following:

Characters with a little dot next to their name is unique, and therefore cannot be duplicated. So I smiled like a wolf, two cards for one character, one male and the other female, both with their names, but their identifiers could be 'Scoundrel' and '▪️Traveller'.

I also thought the bet place to start the campaign was the breakin of the Sith base. The big three with T3 as the ally, and if successful gain Canderous as an ally. However, my daughter wants to play Mission. So back to the drawing board to create a Party of characters that covers wants and needs. T3-M4, Zaalbar, Juhani, Jolee and even HK could be allies; Carth, Bastila, The Traveller are obvious player characters, but I want to play Canderous......

Still thinking.

Mockery: Oh master, I love you, but I hate everything you stand for. Let's press our mucus covered lips together in the cargo hold.

Mockery: I do not trust you. I cannot trust anyone ever again!

Statement: Such pheromone driven responses make me want to press a blaster pistol to my behavioral core and pull the trigger.

So here's the plan so far:

Players get to play the following Heroes:

Traveller (male scout or female soldier)

Carth

Bastila

Mission

Intro mission: Sewers of the undercity, with Zaalbar as the ally; success is more credits and an extra XP point as an award

Mission 1: Sith Base - has T3 as a free ally, success means the codes are retrieved to escape Taris. Imperial threat is 1 (they don't believe there is any threat); failure means the Imperial player has an extra threat level for the next mission and gains one Sith trooper card for deployment free. Three terminals randomly placed and the correctly coloured one to be accessed by T3. A few troopers and officers- no elites- and possibly an e-web

Mission 2: Davik's base and escape from Taris, Canderous for free, threat level 2; unless specified, only scum allowed, Calo Nord the bounty hunter appears when the final door is opened. Hired guns and HK robots and an imperial probe droid.

Two side missions, threat 2

Mission 5: Tatooine star map, threat 2.

Two side missions

I'm working out some specifics and have started making the stats for the characters. It is going to work out to be about 12 missions or so, is that too long? And I don't know whether to include the Manaan Star map, Menaan is rich for side missions and agenda, but will it drag the story out needlessly?

That's what I got so far.

Trying to think of a way to gain Taint points for Force Users, to represent that 'choice' available in the KoTOR game.

Very interested in what others think; feels like a nice little project to keep my mind busy.

Sorry, my guy would have HK-47, Canderous, and Jolee. There was nothing funnier than some Jolee/Canderous interchanges during KOTOR.

I would love to have Canderous in the core group, but with a tears eye, I had to decide who would make better allies vs characters. Apart from Juhani and Zaalbar, everyone has enough rich character to stand alone.
