Standing up question

By ike42, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I've been playing the overlord for the first time on a Shadows of Nerekhall campaign and it's been a struggle. Against my group. So much so, that I spent like 4 hours studying every rulebook for every expansion then sent a super long email on rules we had been playing wrong both in the heroes and my favor on occasion.

I have a player who is playingoing Elder Mol as a bard and I'mhaving a hard time keeping up with the healing, even when I do knock him out he almost immediately is at full health after standing up. Needless to say I'vebeen thinking about the campaign a lot. That has led me to this question:

When a hero stands himself up does anything that goes off at the end of the turn (such as bard songs) still trigger?

We were letting it trigger but now that I think more on it I'm unsure if we were playing it right. It seems that there is no "at the end of his turn," since standing yourself up causes your turn to immediately end. I know this comes off as rule layering but it could make a huge difference in my campaign. Thanks.

Yes, they still trigger. What "your turn immediately ends" means is you skip the rest of the "perform actions" phase and go right to "end of turn." Where does he have his song tokens? Could you summarize what his stand up turn looks like?

Another interesting question is - does the bard keep his song tokens once knocked out?

Nothing says he shouldn't, though it feels unnatural.

The song tokens stay on the skills when knocked out. It says so in the rulebook:

Song tokens remain on Class cards
when the Bard is knocked out, but the tokens and any matching song effects
are not active. At the end of an encounter, the Bard returns all song tokens
to the supply.

Yeah that's how we've been playing. I just read more into the word immediately. The song tokens are usually on Song of Mending and the aoe stamina heal, I forget the name.

Basically he rolls his 2 power dicell for the stand up action and usually gets between 4 and 6 health back. Then his end of turn aoes go off and elder Mok gets bonus healing on himself I think from the hero ability. In one turn he goes from knocked down to almost completely healed and the knock out doesn't prevent any healing to the party at all.

4 health is pretty average (literally, 2 hearts on each red is the mean result.) I can see everyone within 3 spaces including Mok recovering 1 more wound from "Song of Mending" and then as long as "Mok" has another hero near him that heals a wound he can recover 1 more. I'm not seeing how he'll recover more than that as

-he will only rarely have the fatigue available to trigger concentration

-the token can't be on "Song of Mending" and "understudy" at the same time

What am I missing? (Yes, 6-8 health on standup isn't fun, but is there more)?

EDIT: As a side note, I played a nerekhall campaign against a Mok Bard, a Syndrael Knight, a Tinashi Shadow walker, and a Dezra necromancer. I won 2 quests over the course of the campaign (Rat-Thing King and Overdue Demise) and ( almost) won the finale.
