Game of Thrones Season 6 New Trailer

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Anybody's guess. Books and series have diverged too much.

Yeah, looks like Kings Landing is going to be full of bloodshed again. I think I see the Tyrells at the foot the Sept. Margery is still in there remember.

I have no idea what Davos is doing. Looks like it involves Jon Snow?

I have to admit that I don't get that excited about GoT tv show anymore. I just want the next book to come out.

Me too, but most of my excitement about the show is just where it answers book questions. The upcoming Tower of Joy flashback, for example.

This this this. Mr. R. R. Martin, if you're reading this .. Stop reading this and write a flipping book!!!

I'm convinced Stannis wins his battle outside of Winterfell in the North. I'm pretty sure he's going to lure the enemy onto that lake and then either melt it or crack it.

I've read the preview chapters and it leads me to believe that. So much cooler and more in depth than the tv show. Sansa at Winterfell.....please....

I'll take whatever Game of Thrones I can get.

IF Stannis survives the Boltons AND Jon leads an army south how are they not at odds with each other. Stannis has such a stuck up his butt about the WHOLE 7 kingdoms being rightfully his.

Why would Jon lead an army south? He's manning the Wall vs. the Others.

That was a very good break down.

Can't wait for Tower of Joy flashback (for once, we already know that Sean Bean will live through a decisive battle), and I'm wondering about those two women kissing - I thought it did look a lot like Yara/Asha Greyjoy, but if that's all she gets to do at the Kingsmoot, so much for that.

The thing is, due to the popularity of the show, his fan base has grown immeasurably. He could write anything in the next book and it would be pay day for him. Straight onto the NY Times best seller list. He'd stand to make more in 1 book than I might see in my entire life.

Were I in his shoes .. I'd sit down and write .. and write .. and write. Finish a book, get paid, marry a young hot dame, buy a castle and play X-Wing all day.

To answer that letter.

What letter? I admit I must have forgotten something.

He's been married and doesn't want to do it again. Why bother when he can just go to all the party cons and pick up chicks? Anything he puts out now is already going to the NY Times best seller list. The problem is is that other people are picking up all those secondary projects he put down. He's spending too much time on the tv set. He's going to even more speaking gigs and conventions. He's a victim of his own success.

Oh, yeah....

I have to admit that I don't get that excited about GoT tv show anymore. I just want the next book to come out.

I'm completely the opposite way round. The book series turned into a raging dumpster fire following A Storm Of Swords. Six page descriptions of every last meal, indeed.

New clip! Mild spoiler about a pseudo-character, but not THE spoiler. Most importantly, Davos!

Ghost is alive, thank the maker.

We also get some context to the scene. Looks like Davos and what I'm guessing are a couple Nights Watch members loyal to Jon are in fact protecting his body. The other members lead by Thorne seem intent to burn the body.

Poor Olly. I think he already realizes how poorly he chose sides.

Poor Olly. I think he already realizes how poorly he chose sides.

Nope. That kid was a little git right throughout series 5. Lingering shots of him narrowing his eyes at Snow, looking angry, then viciously betraying him...

With any luck Wun Wun will drop kick him over the wall.

Thorne must truly be an idiot. A handful of archers around that door, and all they have to do is knock a couple holes in it and shoot them where they stand. (This is what I thought was happening the first time I saw the clip; Ollie looks almost like he's about to draw a bow the first time he appears, but after repeated viewings his subsequent appearances look more like he's shifting his weight with a sword.)

So now the question becomes: does Jon rise mid-attack and scare everybody witless? I can't catch a glimpse of Melisandre in that room, and it seems pretty small. If he doesn't come back in the first episode, will the season be dominated by flashbacks explaining his lineage? 'Cause as much as I want that, I would hate to see Jon sit up on that table - and then cut to flashbacks and not have that scene resolved for several episodes...

Edit: The other outstanding question for me is, Can I survive the next several months spoiler-free from the show until Winds of Winter shows up and I can read that before watching the new season? Will G.R.R.M. live long enough to finish writing his song? Can we have a thread that's spoiler-free but allows for speculation? Can we have a thread wherein every post is hidden behind spoiler tags? Why did I wake up at 4 on a Saturday?

Thorne has distinguished himself as a moron in both the books and show.

If I thought it was possible to make it spoiler-free until WoW was released I would totally do it. But the Internet is dark and...
