Command Card - Set a Trap

By thestag, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Someone explain how this works, my mind can't wrap itself around the wording:

Use at the start of a round and choose a map tile. At the end of the round, choose one of your figures on that tile to interrupt to perform an attack targeting a hostile figure on that tile.

How can both figures be on the chosen tile at the end of the round? Or if there's any figure on the chosen tile, they can either attack or be targeted?

Whole tile, not a square. The whole physical tile you take to construct a map

if you see what i mean

Ita not the little square...its the whole cardboard tile piece. Some are large and others small. It can be used in both situations as defensive or offensive.

1) You choose a map tile, for example 01A (the big 6x6 tile) at the start of the round. All you are doing is choosing a tile, nothing more.

2) Then at the end of the round you pick one of your figures on tile 01A to attack another figure on tile 01A.

It's a bit tricky to pull off, but can be very rewarding.

OH SNAP!

A tile.

I get it now.

That makes so much sense. I don't know how I didn't make that connection.

Thanks everyone.

I still don't get how this card works. Do I have to announce the time to the other player before I choose the time? How is this a trap? Or do I just choose a rule and make an attack if the condition is right ? When do I reveal the tile choice?

Yes, you have to announce the tile. You play the card and tell the player what tile you're choosing.

At the end of the round, do what the card says.

Yes, you have to announce the tile. You play the card and tell the player what tile you're choosing.

I don't see that part of it either, or how this is a trap.

You know it's a trap, but you choose to go (or not to leave in this case) anyway, just like Luke knew it was most certainly a trap, but (fore)saw his friends in trouble and went anyway.
