Pilot abilities you'd like to see

By debiler, in X-Wing

"If you overlap another ship or obstacle, you may immediately perform one free action".

"When attacking, roll 1 additional attack die if your target is a non-unique pilot."

And, of course:

"When defending, roll 1 additional defense die if your attacker is a non-unique pilot."

"If you overlap another ship or obstacle, you may immediately perform one free action".

Almost exactly the Dauntless title for the Decimator.

oh right, and if the nightmare scenario occurs and we get prequel ships, we'll need a PS 8 Naboo fighter with

"once per round, before you perform a barrel-roll action, you may choose another friendly small ship at range 1-2. That ship may perform a free barrel-roll action"

would make for some good tricks

"When you perform a boost action, you may use the rear pegs of this ship's base. If you do, you must usethe front pegs."

Basically loopings.

VT-49 Decimator: "Immediately after you overlap an asteroid token, remove it from the play area."

One shot, one kill. Shoot. Hit. Kill. Scum sniper.

"When you perform a boost action, you may use the rear pegs of this ship's base. If you do, you must usethe front pegs."

Basically loopings.

TRY A SOMERSAULT

"You may drop a bomb with the action header at the beginning of your activation phase in addition to a bomb without, if you do, receive a weapons disabled token"

"When dropping a bomb with the action header you may use the 1 or 2 bank templates"

"After you perform a boost or barrel roll, roll an attack die, on a critical hit, assign 1 focus token to your ship"

Edited by ZoraTheHutt

When attacking, you may cancel a hit result to receive an evade token.

or

When attacking, you may cancel a hit result to immediately receive a focus token.

I'm not understanding this at all. I can use the rear pegs for my boost, but if I do, I have to use the front pegs? So ... I just boost normally then?

i think he meant use rear pegs, then put the front pegs in to the back of the template. just boosting backwards.

After making an attack you make a second attack against a different ship. You cannot perform another attack this round.

Spend one stress token to change all eye results to evades. You know, like a defensive Keyan

How about one that changes the order in which you modify dice:

"When attacking or defending, you may modify dice immediately before the compare results step."

You would have much more efficient token usage this way. Also pairs really well with some underused upgrades like R7, sensor jammer, etc.

Vader (alt. ability) Force Choke

Action(Target Lock/Focus): If at range 1 of an enemy, and inside firing arc, Spend a Target Lock and a focus token to roll one combat die. If a hit (boom) give enemy a stress token, if a critical (kaboom) enemy ship is destroyed.

Come on, you know you want to see this

You may perform an action listed on your action bar after a maneuver that would cause you stress. Receive one stress token AFTER the check stress phase.

This way, you could do a Red maneuver, do an action, then receive the stress token. You'd still need to clear the stress next turn if you wanted to do another action, and all rules governing stress would still apply (can't set a red maneuver while stressed for example).

"The first time you would flee the battlefield, instead of being destroyed, gain a number of stress tokens equal to the speed of your maneuver and redeploy within Range 1 of your edge of the board. You cannot attack this turn."

I know you're looking for Pilot abilities, but I was thinking of this as maybe an illicit slot, or perhaps an EPT

Retro-Rockets - Cost 3 (small ship only)

ACTION: Perform a boost using the rear guides on your ship's base. Receive a stress token, then discard this card.

Being able to boost backwards would prove interesting. I kind of imagine it a la Top Gun, hitting the brakes and watching someone fly right past. Cost might be off, but I'm shocked we haven't seen this as an actual upgrade or pilot skill yet. We've already got 2 ships with the stop maneuver on their dials, as well as White K-Turns, S-Loops, and Tallon Rolls. This just seems like a given at some point.

If you take a barrel roll action, you may place the 1-bank template in the front pegs, and align the base as per a normal barrel roll to complete the action. (Wording is abysmal).

Basically, a side-slip. Pair it with Advanced Sensors (if the ship has sensors) for repositioning shenanigans. Pair it with PTL for ever more shenanigans. It'd be a nice arc-dodger hunter, and nicely capable of staying in R1 of some of the more nippy ships.

I pretty much do with with Inertial Dampeners any time I run Scum. It's never not fun. I can see a rearward boost being great too, but it should probably be a discard-to-perform, if it's not a pilot ability.

Also, I've been dreaming about a proper Top Gun game with this flight system. The sudden airbrake is still Mav's pilot ability in that dream scenario. F14's get a crew slot, because everyone needs a Goose.

When you defend against an attack that does not hit, the attacker recieves one stress. (Low ps starviper)

Friendly ships within range 1 that attack a ship in your fireing arch, add your primary attack value to theirs (Scyk)

Once a round At the start of any phase you may take a free action (awing)

"Complete the roll defense dice and modify defense dice steps before rolling offensive dice"

I am sure someone can word that better then me.

Also,

Voort "Piggy" saBinring

X-Wing

25pts

PS 5

At the beginning of the combat step you may spend a (o) token to let another friendly ship perform a free boost or barrel roll action.

It is actually very thematic if you know Voort.

I would like to see a Scum-only Z-95 title card. When you are destroyed, you get a Transoshen Slaver. Call it the Authsan Pup.

I still want to see on a low skill pilot, probably with access to ion effects ' when a ship overlaps an obstacle, you may spend a focus token to change an (eye) to a (crit)'

Nora Wexley

PS 6 Y-WIng

You may take a free boost action when you suffer an uncancelled critical hit (even against your shields).

EPT, Turret, Torpedo, Torpedo, Astromech

Nora is a Y-wing that gets scorched, but survives the assault on the second Death Star. She is also Snap Wexley's (Red Ace) mom.

Snap is in Blue Squad and thus is not Red Ace. Lt. Bastian/possibly Nien Nunb are the best fits for Red Ace.
