Your Favorite Non Meta List?

By AngryAlbatross, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Looking for some new lists/inspiration since I keep wandering back to my same old ships.

Anyone have a list that does good enough and is fun to fly? Rebel, Scum and Imperial welcome! I fly all three!

Have always wanted to try it but I don't have enough Z-95s yet. A couple Etahn based lists. YOU know, the OTHER E-wing pilot.

My favorite non meta list is dual phantoms.

won me a store champ yesterday :D don't like its odd v 4 TLT spam (should be able to handle 3) and stress hog will be a nightmare, but brobots and palp aces have demonstrated some fatal allergic reactions to conners :P

My current favorit:

BB-8 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Tarn Mison (23)
R7 Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Biggs Darklighter (25)

My favourite list at the moment is this:

'Be Happy'

Jake Pharrel - (24) 35

- A-wing Test Pilot - 0

- Push The Limit - 3

- Outmaneuver - 3

- Procket - 3

- Autothrusters - 2

Kyle Katarn - (31) 30

- Twin Laser Turret - 6

- Rec Spec - 3

Poe Dameron - (31) 35

- R5-P9 - 3

- Veteran Instincts - 1

I've had fun running loops around big ships and a range 1 procket with focus and Outmaneuver from Jake can be nasty... Poe is poe. And Kyle is there for more shenanigans with Jake's ability

I had a lot of fun running this list.

Colonel Vessery (35)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

"Zeta Leader" (20)

Veteran Instincts (1)

"Epsilon Ace" (17)

Omega Squadron Pilot (17)

Going to try this list tonight at our local league

I've got a non store championship tourney coming up this weekend and may have to steal your list. I've been wanting to throw some bombs out for flavor. A lot of people around here like their palp aces.

I've been playing the below very recently. Mostly an avid Empire player so having a TLT is kinda nice! This list IS the definition of glass cannon. But I've only lost one game with it so far! I like it so much I may take it to the local SC this weekend. I'm sure I'll get destroyed if I do but hey I know I'll have fun while it happens!

Redline is extremely accurate and can dish out massive amounts of damage with cluster missiles and FCS and the extra focus token from fleet officer. scimitar is there because I thought it would be fun to run a bomber. you could drop him and the aced my pilot and run an unnamed punisher. it would make the list better, but its just fun to run the regular bomber every now and then :)

Thanks for the lists! Looks like I need to grab me a Tie Punisher! Bombs Away!

I'm rather fond of my b-wings lately, don't know why but every list I fly seems to have at least one in it.

My two favourites at the moment are:

Jake farrel

push the limit

veteran instincts

test pilot

proton rockets

plus 3 blue sq b-wings.

If you want the initiative bid leave it there, if you don't then give one of them an ion cannon.

2nd build

etahn /w R7 astromech

plus 3 blue sq b-wings

fly as a swarm, keep etahn at the back, and enjoy the free crits.

I could have flown etahn with z95's... But I just don't get on with the 2 dice primary attack. 3 dice is just so much more reliable at forcing the damage through on evasive ships.

So yeah, I'm in kind of a b-wing place at the moment, but also in a place where I want to play at least one pilot with a trick or two up his/her sleeve. Which at least is producing some interesting squads.

Deathrain plus Advanced sensors, extra munitions, proximity mines, cluster mines + ion bombs - 40 pts

Vader plus tie/x1, advanced targeting computer + juke - 32pts

Tehran Cowall plus push the limit 29

Try it, you'll love it

Carnor Jax - TIE Interceptor (26), PTL (3), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3), Royal Guard TIE (0) ----->34 Points

Omega Leader - TIE/fo (21), Juke (2), Stealth Device (3), Comm Relay (3) ----->29 Points

"Echo" - TIE Phantom (30), Veteran Instincts (1), Fire Control System (2), Advanced Cloaking Device (4) -----> 37 Points

Total - 100 points.

This is the list I play if I want to be a d!ck to my opponent. Echo is unpredictable with the way he uncloaks, and it helps keep my opponent guessing. Omega Leader is nigh impossible to hit with his ability, Stealth Device, and Comm Relay, and Carnor is an a-hole when I get him in close. Between Carnor and Omega Leader denying my opponents any sort of token usage, it's a wonderful thing.

Played this against Soontir, Palpmobile and I believe Whisper, and it picked my opponent apart. Focused on Palp so he couldn't help out Soontir (or himself), and everything else just fell away..

Admittedly it uses components of the current meta, but I'd never table this at a Store Championship.

Premise, which has been fun in casual play; everyone focuses each round. Between Garven's ability and Esege's ability Nera always ends up with 2 focus tokens she can use when attacking with her proton torpedoes.

The basic idea behind this build has me looking forward to goofing around with this Imperial list once Imperial Veterans hit the table:

Advanced Homing Missiles

Advanced Homing Missiles

TIE Shuttle Title

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Fleet Officer

(20)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot

TIE Bomber

TIE Shuttle Title

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Fleet Officer

(20)

The idea behind this Imperial build is that Major Rhymer and the Gamma Squadron Veteran are the work horses. As the activation phase progresses the Scimitar Squadron Pilots both activate and use fleet officer to give both the Major and the Veteran a focus from fleet officer. The Veteran then activates, commits to a target, and acquires a target lock (having 2 focuses already, one from each use of fleet officer). The Major follows with the same committal process. Come combat phase both the Major and the Veteran may fire their ordinance with deadeye and still have both a target lock and a focus for attack modification. Because Adv. Homing Missiles do not require the Major to spend his focus token he either has a focus for defense or, during the activation phase, Fleet officer can be used to give the ship in the greatest need of a focus a focus token.

^Incase that was confusing: at the start of the combat phase the Gamma Squadron Veteran has a Target Lock and two focus tokens as does Major Rhymer.

Been having a lot of fun with this usually throws people for a loop for a game or two then I gotta put it away for a while again so people forget about it :P

I'm always happy to remind folks of the time I took third in a tournament with Etahn and a Z swarm. Had never flown it, or any swarm, until that tournament. I think with chimps they may become even scarier.
